Ds9 2001

Oh! Putting elements of Farscape into ST5 would be such a good idea!! I love Farscape... I just find everything about it so fascinating... and I think I tend to laugh harder during Farscape then just about any other show. (I've been avoiding the forum here least I get even less work done then I do!)

And that would be such an interesting premise for ST... hopefully with a new twist on it... I don't personally like Voyager too much... but it's because I really don't like Janeway. I love Picard and Sisko so much... and Janeway seems like such a disappointment. Mainly because Sisko and Picard always felt on the ball to me, like they had a handle on what was going on or down - and Janeway feels so flawed... almost like they felt like because she was female, she had to mess up a lot. Or maybe it's just me.

Hey Neo - I bet you that Bajor did join the Federation... seems like a good move for them... and that someplace the Dominian is regrouping... the Changelling have such a strong dislike for "the solids"... such a superiority complex... we know there are still rogue dominion outside the great link... hence they probably are totally out of the loop... or don't care. There must be Changellings who dislike Odo and are maybe even avoiding the link because he is there.... or maybe have even set up a second link. Even with Odo joining the great link... somehow I can't believe that his mentality will permanently change everyone elses... so eventually there would have to be another dominion uprise... I just can't see it not happening.

Lot's to reply to here:

Voyager/DS9 Timeline.

They started out con-current, but I'm not sure about later- during the war on DS9 about 5 months passed between two episodes, on Voyager the 'Year of Hell' lasted.... a year!
They heard about the defeat of the Maqius quite late, but that's because they were cut off.
It is also meant to be con-current with 'First Contact' because Seven of Nine knew about the attack on Earth. But I'm not sure where 'Insurrection' fitted in to the DS9 events.

Farscape

I've only seen a few of these, but it is good. I too, would like a Star Trek series set in the Star Trek Universe, but with non-Federation characters who do not conform to the Prime Directive. It would be more interesting to have brigands, criminals or pirates who did not have the Federation ideals. 'Farscape' and 'Blakes Seven' have done that well. The Maqius are a similar idea but too idealistic. I want real villain such as the Orion Syndicate that O'Brien tried to infiltrate. I think this would be too alien to Gene Roddenberry's original dream of a perfect world, for them to consider though, that's why the series V talk is all about going back to basics.

Bajor and the Federation

I hope Bajor did join. They should have joined the first time they were up for it. The Founders told Sisko to knock it back, and in the end, the fact that the were neutral during the start of the hostilities was to their advantage.

Kasidy Sisko

I expect she would get a new merchant freighter and become a Captain again. How about a series set on her vessel? No firepower, so you have to survive on your wits alone, and your Navy friends.

LOL.... dave is a fountain of knowledge... he is fab
