But then again...what does it REALLY mean? I mean no one knows and it's just sort of a made up word.

Is it the short form of a word that rhymes with magma? Or the name of Italian appliances? (Had to admit I laughed the first time I saw an ad for a Smeg stove! ) Or a word used by U.S. soldiers in WWI or II?

Really, the word is up for grabs! And it's so expressive. I love words and the first time I heard OH SMEG I knew I had to add it to my vocabulary!!!!
