okay this is from an email i just received. i was a little less than flattered. See what you think.

Why Star Wars is better then Star Trek!!
12. In the Star Wars universe, weapons are rarely, if ever, set on 'stun'.
11.The enterprise needs a huge engine room with an anti-matter unit and a crew of 20
just to go into warp-- the Millenium Falcon does the same thing with R2-D2 and a
wookie.
10.After resisting the Imperial torture droid and Darth Vader, Princess Leia still
looked fresh and desirable-- after pithy Cardassian starvation and torture, Picard
looked like hell.
9.Jabba the Hutt would eat Harry Mudd for trying to cut in on his action.
8.Luke Skywalker is not obsessed with sleeping with every alien he encounters.
7.One word: lightsabers
6.The Federation would have to attempt to liberate any ship named Slave I.
5.The Death Star doesn't care if the Earth is class M or not.
4. Darth Vader could choke the entire Borg empire with one glance.
3. Picard pilots through the Enterprise through an asteroid belt at one-quarter inpulse
power. Han Solo floors it.
2. Aliens have make-up in other places than their foreheads.

OK, counter argument ... let me think ...

In Star Trek, there's some hint of emotion by the (good) actors

Even Riker is better looking than Skywalker/Annakin etc

In Star Trek, the FX are actually ... special ...

Any good? IT's quite hard, cos I hardly eva watch ST, and I like SW!

While the Death Star is a nice piece of equipment, the Enterprise has two distinct advantages, those are transporters, and shields. The puny deflector screens in the star wars universe are not really capable of stopping squat. I'd like to see R2 fix an X-wing after a good photon torpedo hit. And while the Death Star has really strong weaponry, One good away team transported into the control room, and poof, no more death star. Although, I do like Star Wars more.

Thank you both of you, for coming up with reasons why Star Trek is better even though you prefere SW!! Has anyone ever told you, you're very strange people??

BTW: The special effects are actually special......lol!! I like that!!

Strange, me? Ummmm, you know, I think I have heard that once or twice before in my life. Well, that's about as long as I can keep a straight face (so to speak). I am well aware that I am strange, it's one of my endearing traits......

See my problem lies is, I was razied on only Star Wars. Cause of my bro, he had all the toys when he was really young so those toys went to me and i would watch the movies. I never really liked Star Trek sorry guys I never really could get past that most looked like humans. I love Star Wars, and you know what SW's did..it changed everything in how movies were made. I mean come on...the guy came up with Surround Sound. : That is my opinion dosen't mean you have to agree though.

I think everyone prefers SW, shoulda been a poll in this thread.

But c'mon, the latest SW ep had (to put it politely) bad SFX. You'd have thought they'd do better in this day and age of computer generated animation! Compare it something like the Matrix, or Stargate (either movie or series) has better FX.

I'M SHOCKED!!

admittedly i only ever watched one star wars movies, last year, when there was a huge fuss over it. But i never wanted to go back and watch the rest (I watched Lair Lair instead). Now this is very strange for me because I really like sci-fi. So i concluded that SWs just couldn't be good scifi.

It does look like I'm in the minority though! Oh well!

And Kelsi, just for you I'll change it into a poll (if i can still do that?). Come guys star trek fans....don't let me down!
