Just to throw Star Gate into the mix, who would come out on top between the Borg and the replicators?

If unprepared, few opponents can beat the Borg (short of 'Q' like beings'. They will adapt far quicker to your offensive/defensive capabilities than you will to theirs.

However when faced with an opponent who knows what is coming, and has time to prepare, the outcome van be different. The Borg are a bit of a one-trick pony, but it is a trick that works very well.

Most of the Borgs opponents don't get a chance to prepare, because usually a first encounter is also a final encounter.

I just realized that one is Wagon Train in space and the other a combination of Flash Gordon, Dam Busters, Errol Flynn swashbucklers, spaghetti westerns, jidaigeki, etc., in space.
