How he found out? He went to a computer in the 'sga' (lol) and looked for Daniel Jackson. It said last seen in Egypt.

Hey, I've alreaedy answered that. Last seen in Egypt, 1997, he found out cos he was searching for Jackson, Daniel on a computer in the 'sga', controll room.
