I realize she doesn't write sci fi books but I really enjoy her writing any way. Has anyone else read any of her books? Like "Clan of the Cave Bear" or "Plains of Passage". I hear she might be putting out a new book soon. I hope.....

Ive read all four of her novels, theyre very good. there are 2 more supposed to be comming out but i havn't seen any yet either.

Book 5 will be called "Shelters of the Stone" and will be released in April 2002 and I will be waiting at my book store to get it too!!!!! Wow, it's been 12 years since "Plains of Passage." I can't wait. :smiliea: :reyes:  :hjbigeyes :gaptooth:

Thankyou so much for telling me! me very happy now!
:D :rolly2: :flash:
which novel do you prefer? i thought the first was the most interesting to read. What do you personally think of ayla/jondalar?

I liked "The Mamoth Hunters" (the 3rd book) the best. I liked how Ayla interacted with her own people for the first time.
Hmmmm, what do I think of Ayla and Jondalar? I like the characters, Auel did a good job developing them.

I really have to go back and read the books again. It's been almost 10 years since I read the last one.

Ok, havn't read that one in ages either. think at least 2 years ago. Ive only read them alll once and that was all the the last 3 Years. I did not take me long to read the last one as it was getting exciting, when i was supposed to be studying for my exams!

LOL I always did my best reading when I was supposed to be studing too. :rolly2:
:blpaw:

Ive still got next year. Probably end up doing the same thing, either reading or tv.

Mammoth Hunters is last book I remember reading, and it's been some time since I've read it.

Jean Auel is a wonderful researcher, btw.

She is one of my favorite authors. I think that sometimes she gets a little too detailed, and the story suffers for it, but I do appreciate her research. I liked the first three books the best, and I am pleased that there is a new one out soon. I didn't realize it had been so long between installments.

I picked up "The Shelters of Stone" a week ago and I'm loving it. I'm almost done with it. Ayla is now living with Jondalars people and she seems to be fitting in well. I hope Jean Auel doesn't wait another 10 years before she writes her last book. :p

Please, please please use spoiler tags when telling of the progress of a new book. I copied and pasted the instructions from ascfi announcements, the thread named Spoiler Tags, Author: Padders

If you are posting spoilers please add the following tags around the spoiler:

(spoiler)

your text here

(/spoiler)

but replace ( and ) with [ and ]

this way you won't ruin it for those who haven't had the chance to read the book yet! Sincerely, G

I had heard that there would be 6 books in the series. I don't know anything about the last book or when it'll be released.

And Galadriel I won't post anything else about it, I figured we'd all know that Ayla would live with Jondalar's people.
I forget if it say's at the end of Plains of Passage or not but Ayla is pregnant and so is Whinny.
Ok no more spoilers, I promise :D
