I had heard that there would be 6 books in the series. I don't know anything about the last book or when it'll be released.

And Galadriel I won't post anything else about it, I figured we'd all know that Ayla would live with Jondalar's people.
I forget if it say's at the end of Plains of Passage or not but Ayla is pregnant and so is Whinny.
Ok no more spoilers, I promise :D

It's a given that Jondular's intent was to return to his people along with Ayla. The thing is no one would know how well she would adapt. Maybe I am a bit too touchy about it; if so, I am sorry.

noooo problem, I understand completely. I'm the same way about spoilers. :D

Just found this site. You may find it interesting:

Enjoy!

ps. While I may find human drama emotional, I do enjoy Ms. Auel's anthropolocigial study quite invigorating. Jondular is thickheaded, but has a sense of loyalty for the concept of "love."

any one read the Shelter's of stone yet? I finished it and really enjoyed it, I thought it ended a little abruptly but then I guess I'm used to how the other books ended(with one or more of the characters starting a journey). Any thought's on the book? I'd like to say more but I'm afraid I'll spoil it for any one who hasn't read it yet.

Shelters of stone

Is it just me and the last book, while very good, was not as good as the others. This one was just so much about all the different people that it didn't focus in the same way as the first four.

I have also heard there are going to be six altogether

I felt the same way. But I can't wait for the last book anyway :D

Thank you for your consideration. I have to say that all of Ms. Auel's books end abruptly. The first book, I was so upset about the ending, I threw the book across the room!

G.

 you threw a book?!? :p
I knew how the first book was gonna end because I had seen the movie, which sucked when compared to the book. But then it seems most movies from books are lacking.

Yep! I threw a book. It was a paperback, so it sailed quite far and hit the wall.

lol! i can remember reading the first two books one day at work when my bosses had gone away and i had nothing to do! The Valley of the Horses was my favourite as it almost had two stories going up until the point where Ayla saved Jondalar.

(wow, its been a really long time since anyone posted in this thread)

Yea, I really like the series. I found it when I was bored, so I went through my mom's old college bookshelf, and found Dune and this series there.
I got really excited about it, and bought the rest... in fact, I'm rereading the "Shelters of Stone" again for the thousandth time.

I even took the "Clan of the Cave Bear" to one of my best friend's volleyball tournaments, and got in a discussion about it with one of the other specators... it was really cool ^_^
She was really surprised I was reading it so young.
