What I can't figure out was why they gave us jungle BDUs in the desert southwest.

Yep. When my unit first got to Saudi we still had woodlands. When I was talking with a groupf of RA deployment folks trying to get DCU's for my people I asked one SSgt. what happens if we don't get them before we go.

The guy said, and I kid you not. "Well... all of you get together, mill around with your arms out and pretend you're an oasis."

There isn't a military court that would have convicted me at that moment.

Are you sure... I was referring to the red and white TARGET circles.....But sometimes I doesn't make any difference....

Yes, and too many take advantage of it! That is one of the many problems. My cousin was on a ship over there during Desert Storm and he heard and read about the hospitals and their personnel being a target. Very Scary!
