the real "Danielites" policy

I regret to say that the Ascifi.com group calling themselves "Danielites" is not following the "don't talk MS personal life" established by the original inventor of the name relating to the Yahoo.com group and the wonderful person who arranged the approval and blessing of MS under this policy. So I need another name for the Ascifi.com group if we're going to offer this t-shirt I made to the public.

I posted the t-shirt link to a Gatecon list and am getting a load of grief that people here on ascifi.com are posting about MS personal life in the past. So it's near a cease and desist t-shirt sales order from the Yahoo list owner if we can't devise a better name.

It's really a good policy not to confuse MS with Daniel and not worry/discuss/critize/beat over the head with his personal life details in any forum. Take it from me that it was a bad scene in the X-files forums I've been on in the past.

I'm sure there's someone out there ready to claim that one too. It's begining to feel a bit like someone copyrighting the term "bleacher bum" or "armchair quarterback" but maybe not. It's not nearly so main-stream culture. It is also odd to me that most exception is being taken to the "ascifi.com" part of the graphic when this would in some perspectives serve to distinguish that this are not part of the original Yahoo group. I thought I was being most safe making that specific addition to the graphic when I made it. I thought it would help people buy the shirt and promote this crazy site. We are talking a very small segment of the world here. If ascifi.com breaks the rules of the Yahoo Danileites group, and a member is seen by MS wearing a T and then he knows ascifi.com is the bad group does he yank the approval from the Yahoo group? I'd think he's got enough brains, (but maybe not the time to make the distinction) but I'd think he'd know there's a diference and not retaliate against the wrong group.

All I was doing was having was a bit of fun with what I saw the group here doing and shoot it was all about flooding in Lust valley and Chronos clones building dams. MS's personal life is absolutely the last thing 90% of you post about 99% of the time FCOL! Say good bye to the shirts I don't need the headache. :crying:

no one is saying he "is" bent out at this very moment. Just that they'd love to avoid it. Your reaction is what they're scared of. Someone judging some part of MS's personal life and hashing it to death on a board. Lots of actors are insecure. MS and RDA fall to the shy side of the actor spectrum. If they weren't they'd be out with the rest of 'em smoozing at cons. I think the last thing stars want is to have some evil person posting where their kids get dropped off for daycare and their SO gets their morning mocha frapp. We'd even freak if that happened to us! Being upfront with a posting policy is one good way to get the word out.

Okay? Let's be happy with facts and not post in terms of the 'right' or 'wrong' of the choices made.

Bloody hell you lot...... me and my Chronos clones are only away a few days sitting on the grandbaby and it's practically World War 3!!!

CynVision, I think it's sad that your hard work has run into some very silly and sad people! I thought your tee shirt was wonderful, and if I was a Daniel fan I would have worn one with pride and to hell with anyone on another list. Personally I don't actually think RDA and the others are big enough names to warrant undue worrying over their personal lives. I could quite easily sit at the same table as any of them and not be impressed at all.

But then, it would take a lot to impress me..... and play-acting in front of a TV screen wouldn't do it! #

Now I'd be impressed if I sat at the same table as Nelson Mandela or Mother Theresa (and yes, I know she's dead before anyone starts!).

Kat..... brilliant attempt to change the subject..... Season 5 starts here officially on Wednesday 12th September, but last week they showed Double Jeopardy and the season end episode (name escapes me due to Teletubby overload!) prior to starting the the new episodes. But of course those of us who download the eps know what Daniel looks like. Um......... still not impressed at all, Daniel still doesn't do it for me, so I'll just continue mopping up the drool and making streams turn into rivers in the Lust Valley with my beloved boys the Chronoses.........

I don't see a great amount of drooling going on, so obviously the river in the Valley of Lust has worked. But best to keep an eye on things!!! It might start all over again once the UK fans get a big TV screen eyeful of those biceps!
