Gatecon 2001

GateCOn2001

Would love to see you there, Skoon. I'll be easy to find... trying to hide behind the registration table.;)

If anyone would like to buy me a Convention ticket and also a planr ticket, it would be most appreciated!;) ;) ;)

SEND IN THE CLONES!

Jaffa-Jim is no one's sugar daddy! Um, unless she's cute-Skoon qualifies, hehe. I'm out of town for a week, so talk to y'all later!
P.S.-the clones insist on going with me, but I told them Sam gets shotgun on the way and Sha're gets it on the way back-Hathor was jealous of not getting to ride shotgun-until I told her she'd be riding on my lap-will it look funny having Hathor's head sticking out the sunroof? If she gets bugs in her teeth she's riding in the trunk!

Need recommendations!!!

OKAY, let's say I have the opportunity for REALLY cheap airfare to Vancouver and just so happen to have vacation time enough to swing Gatecon.

I've never done a Con and am very skittish about doing so alone... I have a feeling I'll be stuck in my room like a scared bunny the whole time.

That being said, should I take the risk and go anyway? Is it worth it? Will I be able to overcome my incredibly shyness? (All right, I know no one can answer that...)

Here's the kicker. I have to book the plane tickets today!

Augh! I don't know what to do!

Buttercup aka Care Bear...

i'd do it. :rolly2: if anyone wants to watch me real kids not just the alien ones id be there in a flash though i know what you mean about feeling weird.... im still hoping to go.. maybe we could hook up. you can also meet some others from here that are going to be there. rowan is working it and she seems really nice. go for it. better to go and hate it than to wish you had. no regrets!!! a good motto. carp de diem??? latin seize the day- not too good at spelling.:D ;)

Ya think?

Hmmm...I wish I wasn't so indecisive...jury's still out. But you're right. Tempus Fugit, so Carpe Diem!

Alas...

I don't think so. :(

I had my calculator out...forgot to consider hotel expenses and though the rates are fantastic, I could swing it only if I don't budget any money for food and fun! Or I get a roommate.

Now, I could go without food, but the fun? I need to have that! Sigh. Maybe next year.

yeah as much as id like to go i don't think its gonna happen this year. maybe next year will be better. :(

Buttercup aka Care Bear... maybe the two of us scared bunnies can combine forces and make one brave one? I get all stupid when placed near anyone famous. So I hang really far away and let my camera zoom...

I need ideas for stuff to do in V. when not looking at the stars. :D Ideas please? I like to try kyacking <sp?> (them long boat things with the paddle) again. Anyone have a line on something nearby V.?

GateCon and Things to do...

Oh Lord, Cyn... you'll know me. I'll be the crazed, silver haired woman running registration. :} SO there's one person for sure. :}

As for things to do before, during and after the con, there's a wonderful e-mail list that was started last year to help find things for GateCon2000 and it's still going.

It's called 'GateGoers' on yahoogroups.com and it's whole purpose is linking people up with things to do, arranging crash space and/or roomates [there you go, Buttercup!] and generally trying to help with all those little details that pop up.

They can be found at: gategoers-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

We're all there to help each other out.

I know. I'm a mod there too.
;)

tickets are processing

Yep! I know you! You'll see me pull in sometime on Wednesday the 19th September!

I bit the bullet and wondered if such a thing will ever be open to me ever again. So I plunked my change down for a four day pass! I just need to pick day to arrive in Vancouver and day to depart. I need to get hotel lined up. No clue how that is done. ::: holds a big "C" up over her head, followed by an "L":::: Clueless Looser here! I can get myself to the city but after that I'm hopeless!

I live in Richmond, but I doubt my land lady would let you set up a tent in the back yard...she's a pain in the nickettar (or however you wish to spell it).

Hotel Reservations

Cyn, go here: http://www.gatecon.com/display.asp?id=54

This will walk you through it. If you mail a check from the US to Canada, you might want to check with the Post Office on the fastest way to send it. Right now all Canadian mail goes through their routing station in Toronto and there can be some delays if you just 'drop it in the mail'.

;)

GateCon2001

I am really looking forward to seeing folks there.

But please do a favor to a senile old lady [okay... about as senile as Jack, but I do have my moments...].

When you come up and say 'Hi! I'm .....' and I look at you blankly - which could happen, I admit ... mention where I've met you: like here on the forum, on the SG-1 H/C list, you're my insurance agent. Something!

Believe me, it will help me a lot because 'handles' and faces have to be connected somehow... :D

I'm looking in to getting some sort of name tag made. There has to be somebody in Chicago that does this. I'm looking for a sizable one with the etched plastic that is one color on top and a second color in the letters that are cut out...

And that's a new angle on Jack being senile at 45... unless some sort of Gulf syndrome has him... evil thoughts....
