Lets sort these Gods out then...

Chronos and Cronos are considered to be the same. Kronos seems to be another variant of Cronos.
Chronos is the father of the Horae Hours not seasons, as well as of Aether and Eros
Cronos once ruled the universe he now rules Elysium
Cronos is the father of Zeus
Cronos was told by his parents that he would be dethroned by his own son, to avoid this fate he started swallowing his own offspring at birth but his sixth child Zeus was saved by his mother Rhea.
Cronos was fooled by Rhea she gave him a stone wrapped in cloth to swallow. Cronos thought that it was the newborn child.
Rhea went to a cave in Crete to give birth to Zeus. Zeus was brought up in the cave, overthrew his father. Cronos was banished to Tartarus in the underworld.

I'm waiting for some of those fine Celtic gods to come into the picture, preferably as allies of the Asgard, of course. :D
Morrigans celtic or old English or something, isn't she?

Yep, Morrigan is an Irish goddess and they don't more Celtic than that. My viewing area is just now getting to see S5 (while simultaneously viewing S3 and S6), so I've just gotten to "Summit/Last Stand" in the past fortnight. Met all kinds of new Goa'uld this time.

You know watching all you people bicker about this makes me realize why monotheism caught on like it did.

Still the the Christian god is in three parts. And there are all the demi-god / saints. Polytheism remains in the most unlikely places.

The world's first great monotheist didn't do so well. Akhenaten's one-god idea didn't catch on and doomed his dynasty to extinction.

I visited the Roman Baths at Bath, England recently and read all the literature about the Roman Goddess Sulis-Minerva. To appease the locals the Romans aligned the Gaulish Goddess Minerva with the original Celtic Goddess Sulis. The Roman town was known as Aqua Sulis. Maybe Sulis would make a good friend of the Asgard.

I've found this website with other British Deities: http://www.timelessmyths.com/celtic/british.html

I'll second your "what do you mean?" Kelsi! :D And raise you a
"Huh? what bickering?"

There seems to be no bickering here Libelula, just friendly discussion and debate - which is exactly what these forums are supposed to be about isn't it? I've always been of the thought that if one has no interest or nothing to add to a debate, one just avoids the debate.

There are plenty of threads and discussions on this forum. More than enough to please the most particular of visitors!

Of course, if you have an actual discussion point to make which is relevant or that will back the statement up then by all means make it. I'm sure we're all for a discussion on the reasons why we believe monotheism took over from polytheism.
