It seems to me that aliens in movies are becoming more original. The pitch-black gorilla aliens with glowing razor-sharp teeth in Attack the Block (2011); the "poofball" aliens with tongues that suck in Save Yourselves! (2020); and the rather indescribable aliens in Landscape with Invisible Hand (2023) (based on the 2017 novel). It makes me excited to see where creature design will go next.
