Epiloge: As they Were
“Hey… can I…accompany with you to the well?â€
“What?!â€
“It just that… I have this feeling all the sudden…that there’s someone here…â€
“Sure. Why not,†she smiled, thinking that he was only doing this because of the shards, which sadden her slightly but she didn’t show it to him. ‘Trunks…if only you knew about my feelings for you…’
They pursued on their way to the Bone-Eating well, the half-youkai felt someone or something watching over them so he stayed closely to the girl. ‘Serena… you have been very close to me for the longest time. You have helped me through many troubles and worries for many times now and I want more than just “thank youâ€. I want to be loved by you. I was with Asmiley three days ago to set up a new meeting time for us to talk… I bought some time for me so I could think about how to tell Asmiley that I don’t want to go to hell with her anymore…when I have found my real purpose in my life.’
He looked at the girl who was buried with her own thoughts and looking forwards. ‘You.’

As they finally arrived to the well, Serena climbed onto it and swung her legs over it and fell down. Trunks watched as she vanished before his nose and sighed. He decided to wait for her in the woods nearby, wanting to make sure that she comes back safely.
Neither of them has noticed that someone has been watching them. Asmiley. She had been watching the two of them since they stepped out from her old hut where her once younger sister lives now. She has been observing the every move Trunks has made and every glances they exchanged one after the time.
Asmiley couldn’t help it but feel a little bit jealous of them. She noticed that Trunks does have some feelings for the girl and so does the girl has for him. ‘The girl truly means to him… more than I imaged. She truly has healed Trunks’s heart for him.’
Then, the unusual happened. Asmiley smiled. It was a thin smile but it was still a smile. ‘I was wrong. I was wrong about him… I admit that I would never accept his youkai-blood but she did. She expected him as he is…half-breed, youkai… all of him. I do not know how he turned into a youkai but she managed to change him back.’
She was about to leave when she looked at the half-youkai who was waiting for his human companion from the other side of the well. ‘Trunks… from now on our bond, which once held us together is broken. Live with the one you want to be with.’
Asmiley stayed put for the moment and then disappeared from the sight, to elsewhere. Finally setting Trunks free from his promise and letting him live with his life. Whatever the future brings to them, Asmiley hopes it’s for their own good.
Trunks sat down above the well looking down into where Serena had just disappeared. A small dragonfly flew down cautiously and landed in front of Trunks he watched for a brief moment and the recognised it as one of Asmiley’s own. He bent over to touch it and it disappeared into thin air! As it disappeared he felt a familiar sensation. He had felt it once before. It was the touch of lips upon his own but not Asmileys. These where lighter to the touch and felt like heaven itself. Trunks knew what it was. He got to his feet and climbed down the well.
At that same moment Serena knew what had happened. In an instant she turned and retraced her steps.
