The First Ones

I enjoyed Emancipation too.

Bane was fairly ordinary, though.

her hair looks recently dyed or something

Martouf, let me tell you something. NEVER, NEVER tell a girl, (most especially blondes) that their hair looks dyed or something, because than we think, oh no, the regrowth! So, its always better to say...

Wow i love what you have done with your hair!

And i hope i got the quote thing right...i have never done that before.

:D :rolly2: :rolly2: :D

i watched touchstone about 4 months ago on video, so i can't really remember, and i liked Emancipitation! Although Bane wasn't one of my favourites. But then, i still haven't seen all of S1 or S2, or come to think of it S3! i have a lot of watching to do.

Damn, i didn't get the quote thing right.

For anyone who doesn't know, thats Martouf who said that.

And by the way Marty, in regard to your MSN name, is that a stargate qoute? I own two cats by the way.

They do not, (I hope) taste like chicken.

The pain, the agony! How do you cope?

ok, hey Emanciptation is voted as one of the worst eps of series one, bane is worst of s2

on starguide this is

NOOOO

i liked emancipation....
i would say cold lazarus would be the weaker episode of season 1,
and the gamekeeper would be the weakest from season 2.
season 3's lesser episode would be rules of engagement.

Yeah, I agree with that. Except for s3 when I think the weakest episode was Seth.
And season 4's weakest ep would be???
I think Crossroads, although that did start a the really good Tanith story arc. I don't know it's hard to say. S4 was a brilliant season.

i liked Seth...
season 4's weakest episode would be... Point Of No Return
but it was still a good episode :D

The only good things about Seth were Jacob Carter and the Jaffa Joke.

He he thanks shelby!

you know what else sux? the s1 and s2 eps I have seen are all the weaker ones, like 'Bane', and 'The Gamekeeper', and 'Cold Lazarus'!!!

Sorry if anybody liked those eps i'm only going on what's above!

the best ep so far that i have seen (out of not too many!) is...

'Window of Opportunity' in the humour and all around great ep catagory, and

'Divide and Conquer' / 'Entity' in the serious and slightly shippy catagory.

I dunno what else...

I'll get back to you, when I have seen them all...

:rolly2:

the way they tell if an episode is low, is it's lack of a story arc on episodes in the future..... i don't like this way, because i thought Bane was a brilliant episode!

I agree with you Marty. There are alot of really good stand alone episodes that were brilliant. Just because they don't continue on with a particular story arc dosn't mean that they are crap. Like Need, Matter of Time, Fire and Water, Spirits, Learning Curve and Crystal Skull just to name a few.

You know, i read a really good fan fic, and i mean really good fan fic regarding Crystal Skull, and then when i checked out the S5 episode guides, there was an ep, (Desperate measures, no I haven't watched it yet) which looks as though it would be very similar to the first parts of the story...but then I could be seeing things

i really liked Crystal Skull.

the fifth race is voted in as one of the best 'story arc' starters, i'm guessing COTG and uhmm.... nemesis would be.... and Forever is pretty big,

In The Line of Duty is probably one of the biggest story arc starters. It set up the whole TokRa arc.

Desperate Measures hasn't even aired yet. It won't be on till tomorrow on Showtime.

I know, but the picture and summary made me think of this one story straight away.

When you think about it but, the screen writers for any show would benefit heaps from reading fan fiction, it would give them a better idea of what the viewers want to see. Once a show gets past the fourth or fifth season, ideas would be getting pretty low. (although Stargate have so many opportunities it would be fairly impossible to run out of storylines...although I gueass it has to happen.:( )

I really have to wonder if TV script writers don't check out some of the fan fiction and get ideas.

I have to disagree with you there, Shaz. The whole idea and purpose of Fan Fiction is to explore threads and stories that do not occur in canon.

For most people fan fiction is an escape, a way to explore other scenarios and things that would never or could never happen in canon. If things from fan fiction started to appear in canon, then no-one would write fic. Plus, alot of stuff in fic could never be possible on the show. That is what make fan fiction so enjoyable to read. Things happen that can be totally different. Like AUs, alternate endings, parodies, humor, relationships, new charcters and even crossovers.

The two relms of fic and canon should always be kept seperate.

Besides, I don't think the writers will EVER run out of story lines. The show has a very flexible and endless possiblity for just about anything.

watched it last night, but fell asleep through it, so i finished it this morning,

it was ok,
