Somehow I believe I'm a former host and I have many reasons. I have a big gap missing in my memory( when I was younger I remember all of a sudden standing there crying with my mom yelling at me). I have good intelligence. The SYMBIOTE MIGHT HAVE COME FROM AN ALTERNANT REALITY WHERE THE TIMELINE STARTED BEFORE OURS AND IT MIGHT HAVE COME FROM ME IN THAT REALITY.I GET FREQUENT DEJA VOU. AM I CRAZY?

Are you crazy? Yep.
But you've got a point there. I'm always thinking about alternate realitys, and quantam theory predicts that there is an infinite number of them. So there could possibly be a reality where SG-1, Stargate Command, the Goa'uld and all the others actually exist... Cool, huh?

I think you're right about Stargate existing in another reality. They should have had more shows about it, but instead they ruined it by leaving the remote for ours behind to be blown up and destroyed the mirror, or so they said. I think we have the remote from the reality we saved. They should dedicate a seperate series to that similar to Sliders exploring other realities. I like change. By the way, does anyone know where I can find a map of the galaxy like in the SGC. That has the computer code and the point of origins on it so I've seen on the show. I'd like to master the code so I can understand and figure it out for other planets. Maybe make drawings of each system. By the way, I have lots of coordinants that are nowhere else on the internet I got from thoroughly watching the series. Let me know if you want them posted.

I don't think there's a way to 'master' the code. I think the writers pick stuff out of hats. I try to pick up some of the planet designations but they pass so fast.

Luckily I have them taped and on dvd so just reach for the pause button. Do you want the glyphs I know for each world? some may be slight off but they are mostly very acurrate. i even have the one that were on the computer in Prisoners and Touchstone. I have no clue yet which planets those ones go to yet though.

I have (or will have) similarly the glyph sequences for series 2 and 3, and most of S1, including all the errors (Abydos and Chulak addresses are used as "stock" footage and used indiscriminately at times!).

Even on single frame DVD, most of the Prisoner and Touchstone addresses are unreadable...

Does anyone want my planet records? I have a list of almost all of them. ( Origin symbol - Planet name - Technical - coordinants 1-8 )
I would be happy to post them and as I said I have many noone else or very few people know. I searched and I never found any but the glaringly obvious ones.

How many non-Earth-gate glyphs have you found?

I can only recall three or four visible that are not on the Giza gate, including the Abydos symbol.

About half the symbols on the gate are used and I believe five or six are unique. Some of those glyphs aren't even shown.

According to the offficial site, Hammond ordered that the quantum mirror was to be sent back to Area 51 and destroyed. Prehaps the N.I.D. got word of this (heck, Area 51 was the capital for the N.I.D!), replaced the mirror with a fake which was destroyed, and spirited the mirror away somewhere, which means the N.I.D. could be quite happily stealing technologies from alternate realities...
I have to go now... my head is going to explode.

Weren't they forced to leave the remote in the alternate universe? [I may be imagining it!]

They left the first remote in the alternate universe, and it was destroyed when the alternate Carter blew herself and a few Jaffa straight to hell. Then the other alternate Carter came through with the alternate Kawalsky and brought their remote. I'm pretty sure that was left with 'our' SGC at the end of that episode.

By the way, I noticed some co-ords in Uprades that seem to be completely new. I can't get all of them 'cause our reception was bad, but they're not stock footage ones. You can see them for a few seconds in the scene with Hammond and the technician in the control room (just after SG-1 have gone through the 'gate). They're only on the screen for a few seconds, though, so be quick!

No chance sorry. Space is 3D, that map is 2D. It couldn't possibly be remotely realistic :iiworry:

It's 2D because it's a view of space around earth, with the 'viewer' being above the galaxy. I seem to remember another map showing space 'side on', but can't remember where.

The way we see stars looks 2D, so if we look at Orion for example, the star arrangement would look diffenent form another point in our galaxy. The map is the sameway, possibly a view of the network from above our galaxy. On the map all the planets would look like they're the same distance from the top or 'you', but they're really not. A 3D map would be hard to build and label. Especially without a holoprojector.

I reckon the glyphs in "upgrades" are as follows:

eridanus
aquila
aquarius ?
aries
cancer
perseus, or auriga, or cra or crater!
earth (origin)

I believe they are Eridanus, Aquila, Scutum, Hydra, Orion, Cetus.
