Okay - just figured these lovely gentlemen could use their own little niche here at Highlander --

great characters that they are -- and we've been discussing them at length -- so -- we'll just give them their own little space -

i was thinking the other day about how Duncan, Cassandra, and Joe found the other two --- Duncan told Joe to look for names similar to the ones they were using at the time - Silas and Caspian -- why would these guys necessarily use names similar to their 'bronze age' names?? what if Silas decided he wanted to be Rupert Joe Bogess?? we don't know - how the heck does Duncan know how these guys think??

for that matter - why would he think they would change their names at all?? after all, Duncan is 400+ and never changed his, oh, and Cassandra is 3000+ and she's had the same name since the Bronze age -- what is up??

Methos changed his name - several times ---

Connor changed his -- and he's only about 50+ yrs older than Duncan -- did you SEE the list of names Connor used?? (in the 1st Highlander film)

they just don't know what they wanna do --

well it's because Duncan is the star that's why....

But if you look at it it does make some sense...

Silas wasn't exactly the world's smartest immortal after all...he might not have ever thought about changing his name at all.

As for Caspian...well he was a nut anyway...and he liked violence...so maybe he figured that if he left his name the same then other immortals wouls come looking for him an he could just whack them...*shrugs*

okay - screw Duncan - that's a lame reason for letting that work - but i see your point --

yeah - Silas wasn't very smart - but how would Duncan know that? he didn't know the horsemen - and Cassandra didn't give him any helpful info - she just said they were evil --

Caspian -- eh - i have no explanation for his behavior - so - anything is possible ----

I have to wonder about the guys who wrote this show...they wanted to make this impression that DM was like all powerful or something...he seemed to always know stuff that he shouldn't have had a clue about...

Anywho...did Cassandra have anything to do with it maybe? She did have those witchy powers of hers so I just wondered if that's how they managed to find the other horseman so fast...(been a while since I've seen these two eppy's)

dunno - they never mentioned Cassandra knowing anything special ----

and, in the ep - Duncan just pulls that idea out of his butt - "try names similar to the ones they were using back then" is what he told Joe --

<shrugs>

personally - i don't think Duncan was 'all that' -- he was okay until he became an ass -- he still seemed to always have that 'holier than thou' attitude tho -- that's what bugged me --

but --- bring the horsemen!! they're a fun bunch!

HEY!! they could do a whole show about the 1000 year span of destruction by the horsemen! that would be cool! why? Methos would be there!!

yeah...and that's all the reason we need! except that Kronos would be there to and that's another really good reason;)

and they would be riding horses!!

and -- demolishing villages and killing ppl -- it would be -- well - the horsemen!!

yeah...but as cool as that would be I doubt they could make a show about that period of life interesting for a long period of time..After a while don't you think it would become monotonous?

ummmm no more so than watching Duncan bed every female guest star that came on the show or killing each and every baddie that came along --

there could be some really interesting stuff that happened during the Bronze Age -- we don't know -- we weren't there --- but the Horsemen would know --

guess they could always to a tv mini-series based on the HL canon -(tho w/ DPP's track record, even that would be a stretch)

That's a good point...there wans't really a whole lot of continuity to the series either..like you said...other than Duncan's sex drive...so it could be done...especially considering how many massive civilizations there were in those days...after all, they had to take a break from raping and pillaging once in a while to do other stuff right?

of course they would --

Horsemen can't rape and pillage all the time --

there are other things --
lounge by a cool river
burn a village or two
ride halfway across the desert
escape any who might try to hunt you

and many others ---

maybe we should write up a series and send it to someone who knows how to do Highlander correctly ---

ahhh...but is there anyone that could do it correctly that would be in a position to do anything with it?

Greg Widen and Phillip John Taylor --

PJT was a supervising or exec producer during the 1st season - and apparently he knew what he was doing so he wasn't called back for the 2nd -- or something like that (my interpretation, have NO idea why they didn't use him anymore)

hey - they killed Lambert's character - maybe he'd wanna use his production company -- Lamb Bear Entertainment -- to support a well-done Highlander mini-series or something ---

*shrugs* I suppose that's possible..unless maybe he wanted them to get rid of of Connor for some reason

no - from my understanding getting rid of Connor was Bill Panzer's idea - it was in the works back in 1998 (founder of Kilt Denial said Panzer mentioned it at the Con that year or something - but that's when she knew about it and vowed to never see Endgame) -- so, i'm pretty sure Lambert had nothing to do w/ wanting to get rid of Connor - which, btw, was the STUPIDEST move ever made by that group! ummmmm H-E-L-L-O!! how can you have a "Highlander" series of movies w/o THE Highlander?? just doesn't make any sense --- (but that's a discussion for the endgame thread)

so - i think Chris might want to attach his name to a well-done Highlander epic about the Horsemen --- and hey! it would give him a chance to work w/ Peter Wingfield and -- if they wanted to take the 'horsemen' series as an intro to "The Methos Chronicles" then Connor could show up and we could learn about his relationship w/ Methos -- b/c i'm positive Connor knew Methos before Duncan did -- Duncan can be a little thick sometimes -- and it would just be awesome for Connor and Methos to have been old friends before Methos met Duncan - imagine the conversations the two could have about Methos' first meeting w/ Duncan!! hehe (plot bunny! - i SO have to stop doing that!)

*snickers* I know what you mean...I always figured that they got together and laughed about all the holier than though crap of Duncan's...I have a WIP about that somewhere...*starts to dig through her notebooks*

oooh -- WIPs -- you know -- you can put those up here and get feedback from the ASciFi gang! might even insight a 'clan' of ppl who push you to finish -- (see, we need to get the MacSlows over here!)

hehe! That was a bit lame now i think about it. But it was kinda irrelevant anyway cos they didnt catch up with the horesmen til they got back to france anyway.

aye - or maybe methos sent duncan some psychic vibe, b/c remember Methos 'knew' duncan was coming and was leaving clues behind --- THAT's how duncan caught up w/ the horsemen - b/c Methos led him to them ---- hmmmmmmmmmmmm maybe Methos is psychic! he's just not telling!! hehe

hehehe....there's an interesting thought...and it makes sense if you think about it...after all he did know that Joe was setting him up in "Indescretions"....hmmmm....I feel a new plot bunny coming on...
