5.19: Sentinel

re-using locations may not be saving money...but it is likely a time saver for teh location scout to go to a place they've already been. also i THINK a lot of their woodsy stuff is shot in a park in vancouver (whose name totally escapes me)...they may be limited as to where they can shoot due to the public and if they blow stuff up and the like.

It also helps for a faster set up and shoot. They would already know where to angle the cameras and shots.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but here it is: Maybe Teal'c didn't get zapped away because Grieves was controlling the device (and therefore knew he wasn't a threat.). Not much, but it's something.

Stanley Park, woody parts have also been shot up on Burnaby Mountain (SFU). I'm so ticked off, as many people know I was working for the City of Richmond (now work for Surrey) my former carpoor driver had the Stargate location manager call him about getting permission to film in Steveston again (SW Richmond close to where I lived) for March. Well gee what do I do, I move & quite my job at the end of Febuary!!! I wanna see Stargate filmed again!!! no fair!!!:(

Another Great Episode

Overall, a great action-packed episode. Like other people, I REALLY loved those missiles in the SGC, why haven't we seen that before and will we again? They could've done with those back in the Season 3 opener (I forget what it's called, something like "Into The Fire").

When I saw the new Jaffa I kept thinking, "Whose symbol is that?" I've never heard of Svarog before (I got the name from the subtitles on the DVD) and I don't know if we will again.

I know it applies to everything in Sci-Fi shows, but Jack's line about Svarog's ship having "really big speakers" got me thinking. Was his ship in low orbit or something, if not how could the sound of his voice go through space. Also, even if it was in low orbit, shouldn't we hear it muffled as both Jack and the other guys were INDOORS?!

Anyway, it was great to see Henry Gibson again. I remember him from several 80s films as well as an appearance as the Ferengi Nilva in DS9.

One final point, there was a scene when Sam and Teal'c are hiding from the Jaffa and Teal'c say's something like "They mustn't see us." While he's saying this, his head is quite clearly sticking up over the top of the log he's hiding behind!:rolly2:

Ah, but he blended in so well. :)
