The most overused line in TNG

Hey Dave, are you a fan of 'Alien' by any chance? Only you've got Ripley down as one, and now I think about it that is kinda stating the obvious!:D

Yes, I like Alien. Markpud is the authority here though!

Data or Seven. Both are good characters. Data just has the edge though.

'Engage' is a direction though, like 'Ahead warp factor five' or 'scan the surface for life-forms' -- you would expect it to be used frequently. Some of the other phrases needn't not have.

Data was a much more developed character. Seven was lacking something though.

hmm giving this some more thought I think another line that was used a lot was

Open hailing frequencies

Good point... Data likes to say 'curious'!
That comes up a lot more than it should - it's like Spock and 'fascinating'!:D

Plus the often used 'on screen'

And that other thing Picard used to do, not actually a phrase but that kind of waving your hand at your neck - 'cutting your own throat' thingy when he wanted the audio channel off.

Can you tell by my Avatar who I would chose? Even though I do love Data! One of my favorite episodes is about him, "Offspring".

I was watching TNG last night and Picard said engage three times in that one episode!!

Was it 'The Chase' by any chance? He must have said it half a dozn times in that. They raced all over the quadrant for clues to the origin of humanoid lifeforms.

No, I'm not sure of the title, but in this ep. Data was narrating it. Doctor Crusher was teaching Data to dance for Chief O'Brian's wedding, and a Vulcan ambassador traveling onboard the enterprise 'died' in a transporter accident.
