Yeah I know I will...but we won't have *that* long to get used to the new character as it will only be for season 6 and at the best its only 22 episodes..maybe even less

cyn was right...and we finally got to meet by the way. totally cool.
the auditorium was SOOOOOOO quiet. i know i sat there and the first thought that ran througy my mind was....OMG 1000's of danielites, jack/danny slashers, the tiny contigent of sam/danny and the few proud danny/janeters were having kittens right about then.
it was freaky. this danielite got to ask a question and her voice was shaking....

i for one sorta expected it. i seem to recall MS not being totally thrilled aobut season 5...and they did say it was a very friendly parting. danny will be absent but not gone. he will be back.
we were thinking about ways for him to be written out...likely none of which that can be spoken of here due to spoilers.

i think i can spoil a bit and say....AT did make a surprise appearance. totally thrilled. both she and don davis (now there is a man who could charm the pants off a nun...(no offense) but he is a charmer...smooth talker....and when he gets that drawl going....OMG hammy is hot)
anyway both of them spoke of a scene they'd done where sam was crying her eyes out and DSD said he was crying off screen too...anyone wanting sam angst....wait until the last 2 eps i think.
they didnt' say which eps the scene was in but they just started filming revelations the friday of the con so...who knows.

anyone in on the 'who will survive summit' poll...remove bratac from the list. hes in the warrior (and i got a hug from bratac too...totally cool)

umm....ooh, martouf fans, relax. the powers that be DID want to bring marty back. but the actor had time problems so....we're gonna get lantash but not marty. through we are still lobbying for it. that and siler and davis (both of them) to go through thegate. and kawalsky to come back. (got a hug from cutie pie too at sekh's party...those guys are hot in black sweaters let me tell you)
and jr bourne....whoa.
during the auction this lady paid an atrotious sum of money for a jacket i think, as long as she got to pull a chest hair iwth her teeth from jr bourne and jay acavone...she did....it's on video.
i have a pic of hammond in hathor's wig...no i am not kidding..he put it on.
if any of you get a chance to buy hte auction video, it's gotta be a scream....shirtless guys...teryl rubbing things on her front (being hte only girl there she got to do some running around)
apophis and marty working together to sell stuff....it was fantactic fun.
horribly expensive. i bought nothing but...coffeecup and jsc...trish williams now owns chris judge's pants...really. i touched them.
i'll be getting the pics developed and will find a way to share if i can.

any of you that are thinking about next year...well i haven't totally made my decision but...it will be the LAST time you can ever have a chance of seeing hte set. by this time roughly next year it won't exist anymore.

and on the not of danny's replacement.....everyone please, give the guy a chance. i know he's gonna spend 22 eps of 'danny wouldnt' have done that' or 'danny would have done it better'....just give him a chance and don't condemn him because he's not daniel.

also i'm so glad not to see 'how dare you leave' posts. thank you to everyone for being adult and understanding about it all. he does have a life and i respect his choice to leave.

Yup, I agree that it's nice not to see "how dare you leave posts". And about the whole "Danile wouldn't have done that" thing-to alleviate that, wouldn't it be interesting to have an antagonistic member be assigned to the team (I'm thinking pressure on the President from Senator Kinsey)-someone who works well and does her/his job, but is antagonistic? I see possibilities there with something like that-and it would make for interesting arguments within the team and with SGC command-not to mention stir things up here on Ascifi.com!

Yeah, the DVD issue is burining me up. It's either squinty-vision or shell out the money for another DVD player and more DVDs from the web.

I started to wonder if MGM favoring region 2 is a snub at the organization that desided to divide the world into regions and make so much more work for them. A major company promoting one region over another would negate the whole region thing. Wouldn't it? What is the reasoning behind regions anyway?

I only said Daniel was being replaced by a guy because the fella in the plaid shirt who said he was leaving said that. Also said it could be a non-military person. I was a bit miffed that none of their women writers came to the con. It's a male dominated team of writers and the material they come up with reflects that glowingly. We also have to consider that the military is still male dominated so if they went with a new military character it would most likely be a guy. An antagonistic guy would be interesting because then it would be Jack preaching not to shoot the blue aliens before talking to them. But please no one as blunt and mean as De Lancie's character in Ascention. Oy!

I didn't realize that the "glass ceiling" existed in the SGC. I'd like to see a woman replace Daniel-the interaction between her and Sam-especially if the character were antagonistic-would be great-hey, why not send Frasier on a few missions-she is a Captain isn't she?

They already have Sam as the strong female character. I'm happy with that. Hell, and Janet is strong too. They gotta keep a few extra guys about for the women to complain about.

if a woman non-military replaces Danny-boy, would Jack be allowed to get involved or would she be off limits because she's still under his comand? I keep seing people thinking an anxed Jack if Carter found a guy, but what about Sam being anxed if Jack finds the new woman appealing?

I *really* like the idea of a Kinsey plant being the replacement. That would really shake things up, and the character wouldn't be judged against Daniel since he'd be a bad guy, more or less. Sounds like a plot bunny, anyway.

I want Kawalsky back. Maybe they can get one from an alternate reality & somehow figure out how to stop that problem they have from being in alternate realities.

Now that would be cool...I have always liked Kawalsky's character....and I have always thought that they should have left him in the show

Like you guys Im glad that there have been 'how dare he leave' posts...coz at the end of the day it is his life and if MS wants to do new things good on him (I will watch them:kisses: )
At least we will have him around for a little plus he said he would do the film if there is one...which is great :rolly2:

I hope you mean that you are glad that there have NOT been how dare you posts...gotta love when you miss type, can't get you in trouble sometimes. I think it would be great having Kawalsky back. They started the show & Movie with him on one of the main teams, they should end the show & movie with him there. Maybe if the alt. reality doesn't work out they can dig up the real one's grate & findout that not all of the symbiot was dead & gone & that it actually kept Kawalsky in a state of hybernation & then they revive him & get the leftover out of him. that way Jack will have his best friend back when his other best friend is absent

Sad about Daniel

I'm sad to hear that Daniel will be leaving the show. But, I'm sure whoever is added to the SG-1 team will be just as likeable. I'm willing to give him/her a chance. It should be interesting.

I read somewhere the other day that this scene was between Sam and Lantash (who is in another guy). Aparently it's about the loss that both Sam and Lanny felt for Marty. I can see how something like that would be incredibly emotional, especialy for Sam.

Don't quote me on this, it was only a rumor.

i can see the sam/lanny thing. it could be a response to we fans asking 'how can sam keep losing her guys and we never see the fallout' talks we were having earlier in the year.

it's too bad that JR couldn't take part...but to quote almost everyone on the show 'it's sci-fi, anything can happen'

although...about pops, brad wright i think did say 'he did sorta hit a planet' and about rothy coming back 'it's easier to resurrect aliens than humans that have been shot witha p-90 at close range'

it was sorta fun to tell them we call the replicaors lego bugs
