Episodes without Sam and Jack romance are so cold ! Please post your opinion here.

Touchy-Feely

The S & J thing doesn't make the show.... and episodes without it, don't spoil it for me and many others, or make it dull.
  ;)

Oh, be still my heart! Someone who agrees with me! :D

You took the words right outta my mouth! All that touchy-feely!

I don't want to hear references to their unrequited love. I don't want shippers writing and pressuring the writers to create a luv situation between them. and Amanda agrees. Somehow it always seems to lessen them.
"Watch as they risk it all for looove."

Give me a break! Don't turn the show into Temptation Island!

since I'm currently buying season 4 on dvd where the Jack/Sam thing is quite played up it does seem odd to then watch the new episodes from season 5 where they seem to have forgotten it all together!
The series was great b4 the J/S thing so its not neccesarily a priority but it is kind of unrealistic that they fell in love and have now forgotten about it.
i agree a proper relationship would ruin the show, its not meant to be a romance, but a little more emotion from them when the other gets hurt or something might help!
I'm an X-Files fan too and I did think the mulder/Scully romance made the show more fun, although it would have been boring to see in every episode, but it was obvious they cared for one another.
Sam and Jack cant be together while working at SGC, their feelings would endanger missions and it would never be allowed. But I think the producers have made them too good at hiding it. Daniel shows more concern over them than they do for each other.

Hmm, so you spotted that too? Not just me then.

I still like the fact that D&C allowed the character the chance to reveal there feeling so openly (how much more openly can you get concidering not only the person of your affection is in the same room, but also the Doctor, Tokra Representative, General, Teal'c and a lie detector thing strapped on to you! :D)

Although they know they can't do anything about it, they do however know where they stand..... or at least they used to.
The writers cooled down the S/J story arch totally.

Maybe it's sort of like real life.
Part the thrill of finding someone is the chase then the two in the relationship grow together. However, Jack and Sam can't romantically grow together, therefore there sort of stuck, just drifting. Maybe they've moved on?
Not wanting to spoil episodes that people haven't seen yet, but watch 2001 from season 5, the scene between Jack,Sam, and Joe in the gateroom. It has no jealously from Jack and Sam doesn't hestitate accepting Joes dinner invite.

:)

Why romance and SCIFI can't be together ?who say I can not like SCIFI and romance ?

SCIFI must have something real to people identify with. Why love is bannished but humor, violence, war, hate and others humans things are normal ???

The romance will not be the principal topic but should stay there. What people like, in fact, is UST, the platonic feelings, the pain, the jealous and the situations created by all this.

I'll not tell to screen writers that the romance should'nt be resolved rigt now, it's too obviuos but I really want some tips in eppisodes because these characters are not machines like some people that watch the show...

Personally, I think that a Sam/Jack romance would ruin the show, because that is what all the episodes would focus around and we wouldnt get to see much else becuase the s/j factor would ALWAYS come into it somehow...

I've said it b4 and I'll say it again WHY WOULD THAT HAPPEN?????
Just because they may have a relationship that is other than platonic does not mean that it would take over the show or even appear in ne episodes. For proof of this see There But 4 The Grace Of God - If that wasn't professionalism, I don't no wot is! Sam called Jack 'Sir' all the way through the ep and noone would have suspected a thing until the last hug b4 he was about 2 DIE! I don't c why it would have 2 take over the show. Having said that however, I don't think anything should happen until the end of the show.

Well, I thought it pretty much took over the show in the forth season... That was a S/J season...

Hi mystery! Yeah I can c ur point but that was the initial 'dealing with the issue' and there is no s/j stuff in season 5 so far at all! Even Jack didn't seem 2 care when

Spoiler gap

Sam seemed 2 have a thing with Orlin. (Personally I think he did mind but didn't say nething.) He honestly tried (and succeeded) to b happy for her when she said she had a date.

Yeah, but what if they had gotten together? If for some reason they've gotten around regulations. How would it have effected the show, would there be any "time" for it, and how would it affect the team?

as im sure you can tell by the name i like all things s&j, but i do appreciate that not everyone is gonna want to see that happen.

which is probably why, after the shippyness of season 4 the writters have given us cold season 5 (on the s&j front).

so far ive enjoyed season 5 just as much as any other season including season 4 but for different merrits i.e i liked season one for the action season 2 for the team dynamics and so on...

My hope is that by the end of season six or in the spin of movie they allow s&j to be together. that may or may not happen but i will continue to enjoy the show anyway, as will lots of other s&j shippers we're not all trying to shove a s&j realationship down peoples throats. but the writters have put it out there in numerous episodes so why not enjoy it.

whilst rattling my own cage i would just like to say that isnt it about time that some of the male members of the team got a bit of action, sam seems to be getting all the action at the moment what are the guys supposed to be monks or something ?

u go girl!!!!! i totally agree with the whole 'Eps without s/j romance are cold' aspect and i think the writers should keep that chemistry, but i also agree with nearly everyone else on this thread who thinks nothing should happen till the end.

It gives the viewers something to look forward to and it makes u wonder how they're gonna resolve it, but i am a s/j shipper. soz guys:D :D

i agree, but i also like a coulple of the angsty ones like in the end of beneath the surface, when they realised who they were, and there was that look as they realised they'd "taken it out of the room"

yeah, altho i think they were a bit relieved to get it out in the open so to speak;)

i think so 2 but they cant act on it in the airforce.. i think that explains jack's look at the end of bts..

ok ive been reading thru wat uve all been saying, but to be honest im a total shipper!!

i watch episodes again and again, to see look shtat sam and jack throw each other, eg. ive seen divide and conquer 67 times now, lol

so if you havnt figured it out, i soo reckon sam and jack shud get together!!

yeah, i've seen divide and conquer loads, and a couple of other eps, desparate measures, too...

but it would really break up the show, coz they are in the air force, and one of them would have to leave, or be court marshalled etc...

i like the tantalising hints of a relationship, and the not quite real kisses like in broca divide (when they were ill) and others which have very little consequence...

then the angsty bits like i said before in beneath the surface and divide and conquer...

but that's just my view :eek4:
