You're a shipper aren't you?

Well, it was a good time to kill Daniel off if they're not going to bother using the Stargate any more, or visit new worlds with alien cultures... Which seems only too likely. :(

Guess Series 6 ought to be renamed 'The X-Trek'. After all, "research says that shows with X in the name get better ratings." [Martin Lloyd - 'Wormhole X-Treme'.]

I am a MAJOR shipper, but I still didn't like Danny leaving, but he's coming nack in season 6, for sure.
He will be in the sixth eppie, I think, or at least around there.
I was reading all about the new season, some ep summaries have been posted for the first few ep's, and all I can say is that it looks like a good seaon ahead!:D

From what I've seen of the spoilers for series 6, I'm sorry to have to say this, but it all sounds rather dire. 'Nightwalkers' especially sounds like something that didn't make it into the final series of 'The X-files'.

Perhaps that's the idea - make the whole thing sound desperately dull, so then, moderately dull will look good in comparison. The scriptwriters won't have to try so hard.

I really don't want to watch cast-offs from 'The X-files'.
I want to watch S.G.-1, and I want to watch them go through the Stargate and see things and do things they can't do any other way. Is that too much to ask, for cryin' out loud?

Best wishes,
Brassed off Hatshepsut :(

Yeah the spinoff is going to be called Atlantis.
It would really suck if it went the way of The X Files.

HUH?

Did anyone know why the spinoff is called Atlantis? I'm just curious of the name.

Krystal :p

The show is rumoured to star the Tok'ra Lantesh. It doesn't take place on earth, and doesn't star a military team.

it is also rumored that
we meet the Ancients, who were the former residents of Atlantis

cool though it wouldn't be the same without travel to other planets

I agree. The grapevine also says
the Stargate will "evolve" either at the end of Season 6 or during the movie after Season 6, allowing for the spinoff.

Thanks for the link Texane, I'm in the U.S. and we seem to be soooo behind its not funny!! Thanks again.

Don't read this if you don't want some of season 6 spoiled!

In this season, both Sam and Jack are taken as hosts, Sam by a Goa'uld, and Jack by a Tok'ra, or so I have red. Teal'c's wife is killed in the first episode, and his son has to rescue them, for more spoilers, go to http://www.gateworld.net/s6/index.shtml

sounds kinda cool but if they ever bring back Apophis so help them....

I have an idea!

I've noticed that TPTB like to rip-off (oops, I meant "are inspired by") sci-fi movies and TV shows. (e.g. Groundhog Day, Armageddon, Marooned, Metropolis, and of course, The X-Files.)

Well, I seem to recall a certain sci-fi movie that came out in the mid 90's. It had an unusual and fascinating premise. Apparently, the US government was in possession of this device which allowed intersteller travel through an artifically created wormhole. On the other side of these wormholes were transplanted human societies based on a variety of earth cultures. There were also a lot of cool aliens and technology too. I believe it was called Star something.

Now THAT would be a good idea for a TV show! Too bad Brad Wright, Mallozzi and Mullie haven't seen it.
