I am sooooo p***ed off that the other three guests aren't coming. We emailed Adele (CC'd a copy to you Cat), and asked her what that deal was after we got that shady email from her the other day. She said that the other three definetly weren't coming, that michael definetly WAS coming and that they've got, wait for it.....Professer Chris Illert (Oh Joy - insert sarcasm), and some UFO freak to talk about UFOs.
This is sooo slack.

BTW: The passes are for other things too, not just BOBW, I just made one for everyone in the Aussie Contingent. Like I said, I'm sure they will come in handy in the future.

I dunno.......I'm p****d off too.........but, I think I'll have fun anyhow getting together.

I've heard about this Illert bloke as being a boring old f**t. And they can shove the UFO bloke. What in heavens name makes them think that because we like stargate or science fiction generally that we'll be interested in all that UFO/conspiracy theory crap. Talk about unfounded stereotyping. That annoys me more than the other three not coming - and so much for the emails from Adele saying that she'd caught up with Colin, Alexis and Tony while in Vancouver for gatecon and yeah, everything was peachy bloody keen and yeah, they're really looking forward to coming to Sydney yada yada yada.........filming schedules don't just jump out of nowhere and take the actor's by surprise. She would have known before gatecon that there were problems. Let's just string those punters on for a bit longer and fob 'em off with Illert and some dork with a roswell grey fixation.

It is a shame about the cancellations, and hopefully Michael will be enough to pull it through.

But it will be similar to the first Stargate BOBW where they just had Chris Judge... It was still a good con, and Chris was fantastic, but it did get a bit boring in the other talks.

The Psycic guy was actually entertaining, and I enjoyed listening to him, but i'm afraid I couldn't say the same about the UFO guy.... Actually, I can't tell you much at all about him... I slept through his entire talk.

We asked about that in the email and she said, no, there would be no refund because Michael Shanks was, and I quote, 'A high calibre star who usually goes for about $150pp per day'. She's trying to make it ut like we're getting MS for a bargain or something. Yeah, righ, some bargain considering there were three other stars coming for that price.

That is damn right. She sends us this email saying that everything is hunky dory and that it's all going great and then not even a week later they all cancel. Now I can't speak for the stars cos I really have no idea what goes on in Showbiz, but I find that extremely hard to believe.

Oh trust me, I am spewing. They hyped it up so much and kept saying how bloody fantastic it was going to be and now all I'm left with is extreme dissapointment.

On another note, this will probably be my last post until next week. I'm flying to Sydney tomorrow afternoon - the 2.40 flight down - gets into Sydney at 3.40pm.

Pete pointed out that I'll probably be the only gater rattling around the Gazebo tomorrow night. Then he said it would be interesting if MS was there tomorrow night too. It's interesting the way my husband's mind works But it's a thought. I reckon MS would definitely not be staying at the same hotel as the fans..... but if I should bump into him in the elevator or something before Shelby gets there

Cat, as you being a laywer, would i be correct in saying that BOBW are laible to False advertising because they are still, to this date and hour and minute 17/10/2001 @ 20:47, that Michael Shanks, Tony Amendola, Alexis Cruz and Colin Cunningham are still comming to the convention?
This is misleading information that they darn well know is not true anymore (or probably not at all )

They've announced another guest. OzScaper will be happy about this. It's Wayne someoneorother from Farcape who plays Scorpius or somthing. I've never heard of him.
So much for it being a STARGATE convention, eh?
And too bad for all those Buffy fans next month. Giles has cancelled as well.

I agree with Josh's point. False Advertising. Cat, go and sue them.

Re the suing, they probably have disclaimers and all that rubbish. Dunno about it - I'd have to examine it a bit closer. I'll wait and see what happens in Sydney
