Shelby!

WAYNE PYGRAM!!! I DON'T BELIEVE IT!!!
Besides Apophis, Tanith and the gang, Scorpius is one of the coolest sci-fi baddies ever! Shelby, pleeeese get me a autograph! Both Scorpy and Danny-boy, pleeeese!I'll pay you whatever you want!!!
I know it sucks that the other guests aren't coming, and I want to hurt whoever's responsible as much as you do, but remember this: YOU LUCKY PEOPLE ARE GOING. Nothing else matters.
Don't worry, I'm sure Marty can hold down the fort while you're having the greatest time of your lives, and I'm gonna try and post a bit more often to make up for your absence.
While Cat's away, the moderator may play... be back soon, otherwise he could get up to something...:D
I hope you all have a great time.
Raptor

P.S. Whatever you're planning Marty, I want in! :D

Hey Everyone,
They've announced another guest. OzScaper will be happy about this. It's Wayne someoneorother from Farcape who plays Scorpius or somthing. I've never heard of him.
So much for it being a STARGATE convention, eh?
And too bad for all those Buffy fans next month. Giles has cancelled as well.

I agree with Josh's point. False Advertising. Cat, go and sue them.

Ahh Wayne Pygram :D:D

I think that really sux that they've done this to you guys. Suing 'em is looking good.

See now this is what bugs you. They don't TELL you people are going to be there, and now I'm not going.

Yeah, I bet what they do is announce all these guests who dont have any intention of coming, just to get people to buy tickets, then they leave us with 1 guest instead of the original 4!
I dont even know who this Wayne dude is!! ARGH!!!

Squire

but imagine youselves in Adele's hands, stargate guests whom out of her control has cancelled. It's not really BOBW fault, is it?

Now, I'm not going to get up and bitch on here, cos it's probably not the best place to do it (Jes, Deb and I did enough bitching on the weekend). But can I just say that the con was run SO BAD. We started an hour and a half late. Adele and her cronies were incredibly rude, and a hundred other things I could complain about, but let's just say that I was seriously p****ed off with the behaviour of the organizers and everyone involved with them.

now why doesnt that suprise me

BOBW should be ashamed of themselves.

That 'aint even the beginning of it Jad. I'll tell you the rest on the telephone.

Well I need someone to bitch with and Josh seemed like a logical choice since he gets so agrovated by Ch7 etc.
:)
That's a compliment Josh, hehehehehe....

I can assure you stripe that neither Shelby, squire nor I invaded Michael's privacy nor broke any rules. There were rules and we obeyed them. We are well aware how delicate the situation is with conventions and the securing of guests.

We may have had a whinge amongst ourselves. WE KEPT IT TO OURSELVES. We did not broadcast any discontent we may have felt.

I did not hear any whinging about Michael signing for ONLY 3 hours. MY GOD!!! The man was magnificent to have stayed for as long as he did.

I was incredibly impressed by his friendliness and his willingness to remain amongst the fans. I was towards the back of the room and so had a longish wait for my photo. the only comment I did here was from the MC guy who said this would all have gone alot quicker if Michael wan't so damn friendly and insistent on talking to his fans.

As for the photo costs - yeah, they were steep but as you said somewhere else - you either bought them or you didn't - it was up to the person. I did get a photo with Michael. I thought the price was high but I wanted that momento. I didn't want to pay $90.00 to have a glossy pic signed by Michael so I didn't get one. I must admit I was surprised by the number of people who bought 4 or 6 or more of the things. And I was sitting next to the lady who paid the $1,000.00 for Michael's pants. We had a chat about it afterwards and I understand why she did it and good on her :D

As for blaming BOBW for the GST - well, there are just plain morons in every group.

I had a great weekend - the UFO guy and Proff Illert weren't to my liking (I listened but did a crossword) but I saw that there were some people in the audience who loved them. No worries.

This is my first post since getting home. I have been lurking and reading the posts. I am absolutely appalled at the tenor of some of the posts. I have kept out because I don't want to say something I may later regret.

Hey Cat :) :) :)
Welcome Back!!! Have a good flight???

I think it was great of Michael to stay for the 3 hours signing autographs. It didn't bother him so why should it bother anyone else. In the "Program", and I use that term loosly becuase it had the three cancelled guests in the schedule (what was the point of buying one??), they only had an hour scheuled for the autograph session (and that was assuming that there would be 4 guests there), surely they would know that it would take longer than that.

I'd just like to say that Cat made some nice points. We kept our opinions to ourselves at the breakfast table.

Oh I realise this completely and no where did I give names this is a public forum and I would never slander anyone by using their name in a derogatory manner in a place where anyone may stumble on it and be upset about it.

You are entitled to complain any where you want but I just personally dont think a public forum is the place to do it as some one has. If you indeed have any discontent again e-mail BOBW and voice them in calm and respectful manner and you will get the same respectful responses or explanations.

When an actor signs a contract it stipulates how long a guest will sign autographs for and they are paid per hour for signing.

That was another reason Michael was so long in signing he was also making up for those at the cocktail party who were entitled to an autograph because he wasnt able attend because of the flu. Remember also these photos come from the states with the Aussie exchange rate you can double costs before you even start.

As for blaming BOBW for the GST - well, there are just plain morons in every group.

Exactly my point and Adele has to deal with this as well as fans who complained about every little thing and she did a great job.

Thank you perhaps you'd like to e-mail BOBW and let them know you had a good time ...most people a quick to whine and complain but not so quick to send a simple note of thanks.
I also thank you for a well worded adult response.

The programs were printed 3 weeks prior to the unfortunate cancellations and this was paid for and had to be recouped somehow and you would also have noticed that some people preferred to have their $5.00 program signed by Michael ...not to mention a loose leaf flyer was added to all them with details of the new replacement guest Wayne Pygram which was also useable for an autograph.
As for the one hour that was a contractual time and entirely up to Michael himself if he wished to continue after.
