What's there to remember? The moon was a button - the clue is in the title. Really sophisticated stuff.

I remember this, didn't we all have to "say goodnight to the vaccume cleaner" or something or am I thinking of a completely different series, or just hallucinating?

Just hallucinating, I think. There wasn't anything mechanical in Button Moon. As I recall it, just a button (the moon), a washing up liquid bottle (a rocket) and a spoon (who went by the name of Mr. Spoon - no, I'm not making this up). The person who thought it up must have been on some very serious drugs at the time - or in need of some.
 
You know I could have sworn that at the end you had to say goodnight to the vaccume cleaner. Does anyone know of any other series that you had to do this just to put my mind at rest. I'm not mad really:confused:
