Lovin' Teal'c!!!
As a Newcomer to the world of Stargate-- I was immediately smitten with Teal'c!
Now-- it might be that I am drawn to the strong, silent, alien type--- but I have to say--- that besides Jack-- Teal'c just grabbed me! For sure Christopher Judge is an outstanding actor Every look--every expression -- every nuance-- is cricitcal!
And his "connection" to Jack-- which I think is majorly overlooked and highly underrated -- is so, so special. Jack and Teal'c are both Warriors. They are both Father's that have suffered the loss of their sons -- (in different ways, yet a loss non-the-less) They are both men of steadfast courage -- and both men, when faced with the very worse case scenerio -- will DO what seems to others (like Daniel/SAM) to be distasteful, cruel, without reason-- to accomplish a far reaching goal with greater outcomes.
One episode that comes to mind is the one in which Daniel and Jack are at odds over IF Jack should destroy the SHIP filled with Freeze-dried DNA samples to keep the planet, already home to another race of peoples, from being alterted resulting in their destruction.
In my estimation- Daniel was 100% wrong from start to finish. There was never any arguement to be hand. That SHIP was an invader. The planet was already populated....it was already HOME to the first group of people placed there by Jack and SGC. They had priority. Just because the other race of aliens could create some super ship with the technology to come to a world and rebuild it didn't given them the RIGHT to do so! Hogwash!
That's like saying the schoolyard bully should be allowed to stomp into the sandbox and kick around the smaller children because he has "problems" -- and he had the physical muscle power to hurt little kids.
And personally-- the Scriptwroter-- Producers simply pulled a "By-the-Grace-Of-gods" stunt by JUST happening to have the BAD Computer Alien have conviently found another planet where their victims could be shipped off to. Well-- goodie for Daniel! So he and his bullies got what they wanted....but lets not mention the uprooting of another entire population as a result!?????? Like the children from that poor race will soon get over the psychological damage of that experience????
Teal'c was right when he said to Jack, after Daniel deliberately went up to the SHIP. -- "He made his decision."
Yes, he did-- as always, Daniel decided to disobey orders. To direspect Jack's command. To place everybody on the planet at risk -- of DEATH! Did he REALLY think Jack would abandon those people?
I was like: PUSH THE BUTTON, JACK! PUSH THE BUTTON NOOOOWWWWW!!!
As you might tell-- I am still miffed with Daniel over THAT event! That Archeologist has a loooonnnggg way to go to impress me.
So many times in the few episodes I have watched, TEAL'c is THERE for Jack in ways the others have not and never CAN BE. And the same is true for Jack, when it comes to Teal'c.
I have much too study of each show -- since I have only touched on the tip of them since getting the first of the boxsets. (Oh, gosh-- such homework to do!
)
Re: Fan fiction -- such a huge HOLE out there I have found when it comes to Jack and Teal'c stories -- but never fear! That only means that newcomers to the world of Stargate can have a field day creating stories and filling in missing scenes and the like! YEAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Well-- enough said, for now.
Best Regards to all!
