How many of you have seen the new Star Trek series, Enterprise, and what do you think of it?

we dont get it on sky till after the new year, but i am looking forward to watching it...peachy:D

I have seen some episodes but don't watch it continuously yet. I like Scott and gang though! They have humor and action in a nice mix.

So far i have seen all 12 episodes... and have been impressed...

I think they struggle to find stories that haven't been hashed before with the other series and then they struggle to make the point with the story they have. I am very much pleased from an acting standpoint that it isn't the "Scott B. Show" the way Stargate SG-1 is the "RDA Show." He drops comfortably to the background and entire episodes feature the others quite well. That just impressed me. The producers for ST still have a clue what "ensemble" means.

When I first started watching I was a bit disappointed it didn't reflect the tech in the first ST pilot but my timeline might be a bit hazy. I was either expecting something more like the ST pilot or a bit more NASA. And regretfully the tech glitch of this series is that hull plate polarization thing. It's been a bit of a crutch... shows up in nearly every episode...

Otherwise, I can't wait to catch reruns of episodes I missed.

Oh yeah, and the titles theme song rocks and I hope they come out with an expanded version with a few more verses.:rolly2:

Cyn, I hear ya. I stopped watching Voyager when it became the Seven t&a show. That was a shame; it was originally a good ensemble show.

The new Enterprise has actually grown on me. The first show was pretty good (must be tough to try and get loyal "fans" when writing the first epy). I find myself turning back to it, and now watching it in its entirety.

I'm am tired of the bitc* vulcan already. Star Trek fans are accustomed to The Vulcan, who learned to have a heart. This female makes me run for the remote.

Otherwise, it's been good so far.

vulcan

I don't like the Vulcan, either. She just doesn't carry off a good Vulcan personality. She seems hostile, and disinterested. Vulcans are usually detached (emotionally) and everything is interesting, or as Spock used to say, facinating, to them.

I agree with you two, Texane and BonnieStackpole, reminds me of a hostile Vulcan of 9... do I seem a bit put out with the T and A on a science fiction show?

Kinda like her.... she is what i think a vulcan should be like.... HArd as Nails

Perhaps it is the fact that they are trying for a new Vulcan type...
She seems much more ruthless than Spock and the other Vulcans who while emotionally detached were interested in all things... she seems to like to shock the 'Humans'... almost as if were a game.

Hoep so..... would like to see another side of the vulcans

Well, guess who is in for a pleasant surprise then... just saw in the TV Guide some pics of some Vulcan happenings...
TPol was hugging. I think. Trip..... it only had their names and nothing about the series! SHOOT! I am getting into it more.... I loved
Trip being pregnant and not knowing how he got that way!
That was one of the funnier episodes..... And I liked the Klingons showing up!

Us Aussie's havent had the chance to see the new enterprise Series yet , as Channel 9 here havent even finished the end of season 5 for Voyager but they stoped showing it ever since the sept 11 terroists attacks , so it maybe somtime before we see it which is a real shame

Thinking about this, it seems as if the Vulcans had "grown" once we saw Spock's character. In the first epy of Enterprise, it becomes clear that the Vulcans deliberately kept Humans from space & withheld info and tech. Watching their behavior as we decided to return the Klingon to his home world, the Vulcans certainly seemed much more ruthless than we are accustomed to.

Hi, Texane,
Yes, they do. It seems with each episode of Enterprise the Vulcans harden a bit and get ruthless.... Since it is supposed to be 200 years before Star Trek OS perhaps they softened up after Enterprise (should we be calling it The Prequel?)

I'm a little surprised to read how hard you all are on the Vulcan on "Enterprise." The whole idea of Star Trek is to see how we as human beings deal with the different races, ideas, customs, etc. and how it always turns out that we are more similar than we care to admit no matter where in the Universe we come from. I welcome the new look on the Vulcans and we can hopefully come to appreciate how they become Spock, Sarek, Tuvok, etc.
Thank you for reading, I am now stepping down from my soap box! LOL!

P.S. To answer the original question, I love the new show "Enterprise".

If you have seen the huge Mr. Spock following, you wouldn't be surprised. Sarek's character was frowned upon by the fans at first because of his harshness toward his son. Let's face it: Mr. Spock's character sets the standard for what the fans like. And a nasty female like the one that has begun this new series is not it.

I still like the show, though. I was surprised at the theme for the series. It is so unlike the others. It has grown on me, too.
