An ex-girlfriend of Archer had a Beagle. It had a litter with 4 males – Porthos, D’ Artagnan, Athos, Aramis.
Archer has had Porthos since he was six months old.

hmmm, I assumed Porthos was a puppy in the first season...anyhoo, he's quite a young dog...at least beagles are better than making hype over breeds like dalmations (really hard to train, a few scews loose up stairs), boarder collies, & Berniese Mt dogs, all of which became 'the popular dog' from shows, all of which are not good to get on a whim, like, aw cute doggie in the movie lets get it mummy... if you're not going to invest the right time & energy. Boarder collies & Berniese Mt dogs need lots & lots of attention & space, or (the boarder collie at least) they turn into the neurotic pooch I have from the SPCA
