Awards and Records for Fellowship of the Ring.

We only won four awards. FOTR got them for Make Up, Cinematography, Visual Effects and Score so obviously lost the rest.:(

Four is good!!! I know there were 13 nominations, but the competition was tough. Harry Potter got none.

In the SF genre Monsters Inc and Shrek both won one, and a short SF animation won another.

Its not the best but I suppose four is good. Even if they weren't for the biggest catergories.
As for the competition, I think the only movie there I've seen is FOTR (I'm not that big for movies).

You have to remember the Osca's tend to be very Hollywood-centric. They follow their own agenda, which tends to be different to the quality of the film, particularly if the film is 'foreign' made.

This year it was be nice to those of a different colour.

i know the Acadamy Awards are supposed to be based on the quality of the film, but stuff like film awards, especially for best film, are so political now.

If they really want to find out what was the best film of 2001, then ask the public.

A Beautiful Mind is a Acadamy Awards film. It's the type of thing thoses judges like, and probably not what the public think is the best film.

i think they should put all of the awards to the public, that way it is fair and everyone has a fair chance of winning. It is completely unbalanced and unfair the way it is at the moment.

Its still getting nominations, this time for the MTV Movie Awards. It got six nominations which are:
Best Movie
Best Male Performance - Elijah Wood
Best Villain - Christopher Lee
Breakthrough Male - Orlando Bloom
Best Action Sequence - cave tomb battle
Best Fight - Christopher Lee vs. Ian McKellen

I just saw some of the MTV awards and LOTR won best movie. :D I'm not sure if it won any others but best movie is an accomplishment, even if it is for MTV.
