This is the guy who's replacing Daniel!

How can you tell? The script didn't really allow him to be anything other than wooden - or a bit too gushing - no offence to the actor who didn't really have much to get his teeth into.

I can't help thinking it's a bit of a lost cause to insinuate him into the team at this late stage in the proceedings. Daniel's role was to act as a counter-weight to the heavy military bias on the team, and hinged on his wide knowledge, curiosity, social conscience and compassion which Jonas, as an alien who's just betrayed his people by stealing some of their naquadrium, can't really approach, never mind equal.

Without the profound presence of Dr. Jackson, I fear that Stargate S.G.1 will lapse into being just another formulaic military slug fest :dead:

I guess the question is... can we get used to 'Parker Lewis' or 'Harold from The Stand'?? as a replacement... short answer... NO... bring back Daniel!!

It wasn't the script. Corky uses the same mannerisms no matter what role he's playing. Nothing personal, but I really don't think he'll be a good replacement for MS.

Yeah I do agree with you guys...no one can take Danny's place in the team..but Im trying (and failing) to get over it and to try and like the new guy!

In some ways I wish that they would not replace Daniel but it looks like someone will (try) and take his place and no Im no happy about it but its gunna happen!

Thing is, it takes a lot of time and effort and *talent* to develop such an interesting and complex character as Dr. Jackson.

You can't just walk in off the street and suddenly be a fully rounded character. It's just not possible - not in the time available anyway. He has to have an interesting background history and there simply isn't enough time to do it in, especially given that Jonas is an alien.

Not fair to either the actor or the fans

Yeah in fact I was talking about this very hing this morning!

It gunna be hard for the new guy and the fans as he only had one season for us to get to know him and for him to develop his character as you say Hatshepsut so its hard all round.
In some way that why I would have liked it to be someone we already know and like...either that or leave them as a three!
