Now that we have seen the demise of Mr. Jackson. I wonder will Michael's name still be in the opening credit sequence next week when the Season Finale airs?
And what will happen next season? Will there be a new opening sequence. or will they just replace MD's name?
Also, Raptor mentioned this to me yesterday, but wouldn't it be good if they put Teryl in the opening credits too. Just a thought.

They'll probably just remove his name or keep it up for the final episode and worry about what to do next season.

No need to remove his name from the credits - after all, he's still there in spirit :D

Sorry :wink2:

Agree about adding Teryl Rothery's name to the main credits :)

Best wishes,

When she (TR) is in the show let's have her up top!

AAARRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! Who CARES about the credits? Y'all are getting to see the final season 5 epys of Stargate???
:crying: :angryfire :fangs: :disturbed :eek7: :hjbigeyes

his name may be in the credits for revelations simply because they're contractually obligated to have them there. technically he's signed for the whole season so his name should be right after RDA's for revelations...then things will change for redemption. and if any change is made to teryl's name...it'll see the light of day in redemption.

i'm sure y'all know, how an actor's name is listed in the credits is spelled out in thier contract.

anyone recall B5? when claudia christianson left for season 5? and at the last minute they had to cobble together a new season 4 ender? since her name and she was in the series finale but she ended not being in the season 4 ender they had to re-do the credits because if her name was listed in an 'extra' episode then they'd have to pay her for it. (something like she was only paid for 88 eps not 110 but if they'd put her name in the 89th time then they'd have to pay her more)

hmmmm.

this thread brings to mind a question. When we are talking about credits, what do people mean? I have pretty much the full set of the sg1 dvds from the UK, and season 1-3 have the credits sequence with pictures from the series, and shots of the actors over their names, but then in season four it reverts back to the movie intro sequence (you know, the big egyptian head).

I have only ever seen the egyptian head version on UK TV (Sky One and C4), but since I have moved to canada I have noticed the other intro playing on this side of the Atlantic (but on a US channel, I think).

I also recall listening to one of the season four dvd commentaries and Peter Deluise (after singing his "theme song" over the credits - hilarious!) mentions that they *considered doing a different credits sequence, but just never got around to it - huh? WHere did the other one come from then?

If anyone can make sense of this then well done - it is a 2am stream of consciousness posting :D

And as for the shanks - I agree with Skydiver - it reminded me of B5 too - his name will probably be on the credits for the remainder of season five , well, the one episode that he won't be in that is. And if the above is anything to go by, then I can't imagine TPTB getting a new credits sequence sorted in time ;)

there are two versions of stargate opening credits

the montage (clip show) that's on all syndie eps and the season 1 boxed set and then the mask pan that's on the showtime eps

both use the same music and all

Having just seen a trailer for the final episode, it occurs to me that Michael Shanks's name has to be in the credits by right because, unless things have changed, he will be providing the voice of Thor :D

Best wishes,
Hatshepsut

The trailer that shows their pics would be very different for some if reshot - Amanda Tapping, Don Davis, Teryl Rothery and Christopher Judge haven't changed much, but RDA has definitely aged a bit, and Michael Shanks' hair has been much shorter for years.

My box set only had the mask on TCoTG. The others have the syndi credits.

I always forget when I sneak a episode on Friday night at my parent's home that the credits are different and there are no commercials for a quick bathroom break or snack prep. Duh!

I expect something will change on the syndi. Maybe with the change in network, they'd be able to keep it the same? Who knew that the mask was so "smart" in terms of aging actors. :p Also, when they put credits together would they ever have thought the show would last so long? I feel a bit like when the X-Files retooled the credits. They're still strange to me.

Yeah Michael's name was in the credits for the last one of season five......as yes he does do Thors voice and we did see a scene from Meridan in the 'what happened last week' at the begining!

:(

I hope they don't put the new guys name in the credits next season. That spot belongs to Teryl. If they do I'm afraid I'll be writing some very stern letters.

That's true, and in fact it was one of the first things I looked for during the end credits to Revelations -- but it wasn't there. If you look back, MS has *never* been credited for doing Thor's voice. It wasn't until I read convention reports from his Euro Tour that I realised that this was by his request. So even if he does come back as Thor, I doubt they'll put his name down :(

Any idea why he didn't want to be credited as Thor?

It seems rather unusual for an actor *not* to want the credit for his work - except possibly for tacky adverts from the wilderness years 'before they were famous'. ;)

Are you sure about this, I'm sure I've seen it in one of the earlier Thor related episodes "The Fifth Race" I seem to re-call. I remember a post when it first aired in the Uk - a keen eyed fan spotted it in the credits. (back in days of sg1.net I think).

I might be wrong, anyone know any different ?

From the Doc's SG4 report located at http://www.thegekkocharmer.net/sg4.html:

"talking about mysteries: he likes them. a lot. he likes to have little secrets all to himself, without sharing them. he never wanted the world to know that he's thor's voice, and was somewhat sad when the information got out."

That's all I've managed to find on it ... although I do vaguely remember hearing him mention this before. Does anyone else remember him mentioning it in any interviews?

I just pulled out my tape of The 5th Race, but I very elegantly cut it off before the actual credits started, so I have no idea if MS is credited or not. I did look at the Showtime website, but he's not credited there ...

Hope that helps some,
Satirae

On Farscape, the credits have never shown Lani Tupu as the voice of Pilot. I have no idea who is the voice of Rygel.

Jonathan Hardy does the voice of Rygel. I'm certain that he's in the credits.
