A very good episode i thought.. great story... great moral storyline. But as people have already said did Archer do the RIGHT thing ????
She is also making great strides into becoming human- She did an excellent job of talking over Grat, whilst the rescue team beamed away. Though I have trouble seeing how they could have overcome sensors with the transmission, without interferring with the transport as well and frequency jamming is very obvious.
As for Archer's solution; it was natural, eased his short term consience, but would do little for the Suliban. Either the escaping ones or the ones in detention.
If it had been a TNG episode- Picard would have given Grat a high moral lecture- 'Let them go', Grat would have agreed to arrange for their immediate release and everybody would be happy.
