Now who says romance can't happen in SCI-FI? Of course it can happen. It has happened. It will continue to happen.

What has me troubled is that Carter is the only one getting it. She's similar to the internet junkie looking for the next date. She's been with (had contact) several people during the last six season.

Season 1: Emancipation (forcefully), Broca Divide w/jack, The first Commandment w/Jonas Hanson,
Season 2: The Tok'ra w/martouf
Season 3: Point Of View w/Jack
Season 4: Window Of Opportunity w/Jack, 2010 w/Joe, Exodus w/Martouf
Season 5: Ascension, w/alien

The bottom line is that we are guaranteed to see Carter in action in Season 6.....yipee!

Since this isn't a doctoral thesis, there may have been more instances I've overlooked. The author is responsible for the errors and oversights seen in this submission.

I enjoy an interesting debate. Romance on any television series would either turn out a success or a flop. They can happen from time to time, that I'm not doubting.

I was merely expressing that notion that the writers consistently use the sparkle in Sam's eyes for one thing ~ to get ratings. I'm suggesting we bring back Anise, for that reason alone. Jack should hook up with her

In respect to me being jealous, would it matter to you if I was or I wasn't? Not really. Its not me who's the topic of discussion, nor Sam Carter. Its the notion we are overplaying romance on Stargate

Lets run the storyline of new technology, new races, and complete old storylines. Lets see what happens to the Replicators, etc. etc.

You know, that brings up an interesting point. When the fans get to chatting about Sam's "boyfriends," they like Martouf and some like Narim, others hate Joe, etc. etc. Have you noticed that most of the fans express REAL dislike of ALL of Jack's potential girlfriends? Just a thought . . .

I have a hard time believing that most fans disliked all of Jack's potential flings. Just by looking at some Macgyver and Stargate Episodes, one can argue that Richard Dean Anderson isn't the world's greatest kisser

But, Laira's ~ from a Hundred days was beautiful, articulate, and intelligent. I believe that Jack O'neill and Laira would have hit things off. If you remember correctly, she was rubbing her tummy right before Jack, Daniel, Sam, and Teal'c left. WOULD this mean she's holding Jack's potential child?

Only time will tell what will happen in the end. I really hope that the writers follow up this story. It would be nice to see Jack's reaction to a baby girl or boy.

I think you haven't read the threads from the last Gatecon. Laira's pic came up on the screen and she was resoundingly boo'd - the fans hate her. I didn't realise it until someone reported from the Con that she was so disliked. I thought the epy was good.

And I still say that every time a series adds a baby, it ruins the next season, at least.

I agree with Garron. I liked Laira and the ep 100 Days. I don't like S/J ship, partly because I have never seen any chemistry between AT and RDA and partly because HE'S HER SUPERIOR OFFICER. They can't get involved as long as she is directly under him in the chain of command. It's unprofessional and they'd be court-martialed.

As for Sam, I wish TPTB would give her a real boyfriend instead yet another Black Widow storyline.

I can't stand the romance stories! One storyline that includes Sam making out with a guy, I'll puke! Now, if it includes her making out with a woman, I'll LOVE THAT!

I am a Sam / Jack shipper, but I don't think that they should get together till near the end, or it will be too X file-ish! It would ruin the show.

Hey Lisa, I was reading this interview with AT in a sci-fi mag and she said, after her saying that she doesn't want nething 2 happen between her and Jack b4 the end of the series,:

"I don't have a problem if, at the very end, they tie it up somehow. If it happened b4 the end then I think it would be unfair to the team or to the programme. also, I don't want to become 'Jack's girl', because Sam Carter has so much potential to be more intelligent than that."

However, if she was presented with a blank piece of paper for that final scene:

" I could see them siting on a dock fishing together. Nothing is implied, we just let the audience decide where they think it goes after that."

So they're totally opposed to the idea after all!!!! and no Laira in sight I don't think!!!!
