For those MS fans in the UK the Outer Limits Episode Manifest Destiny is scheduled for Wed 27th Feb on Sci Fi.

Also IMDb lists the movie Escape from Mars as airing on Saturday 2 March on Sky Movie Max 2 (look under Michael Shanks' entry and click on the TV schedules button)

Enjoy!

Cool...thanks Bel for the info..I will look out for them! :D

Mary 25 from Outer Limits due to air early on the morning of March 6th (1.00am)

Is MS paying sky to show his stuff?!!

I caught 'The Outer Limits' purely by accident last night, so that was a nice surprise  :D

But I have to ask - is he being type-cast? ;)

He played:

a civilian

a doctor

a member of a team of four (for the most part)

there were two other men and a female boffin on his team.

he got whumped

he died, albeit after the other three this time ;)

he died as a result of his own actions

he died in an attempt to save the world

I rest my case :D

Best wishes,
Hatshepsut

You beat me to it. I watched Outer Limits last night and saw basically the Daniel Jackson character, only the name had been changed. Even some of the words he spoke could have been written for and spoken by Daniel. I'm not sure, but I think OL was made by the same folks who make SG1. MS will have to choose his new projects carefully or he could end up being typecast which is hard to break out of.

I am fairly sure that OL is made in Vancouver along with Andromeda so there is a fair amount of cross over between the actors who are cast.

A really fun game is to watch early X files which was also Vancouver based, actors from Stargate crop up on a regular basis. Hammond is Scully's father, Janet is a nurse, Malachi turns up as a manic geneticist, Harlan is also a scientist plus Gairwyn, Mayborne, Selmac's original host, the guy from Learning Curve and others. I can really iritate my husband by trying to get him to guess who the actor played!!

One thing that amuses us is that so many of the off-world places they visit through the Stargate look just like British Columbia

Best wishes,

Most of the scenery about Vancouver and the rest of BC looks so spectacular, we use SG as a tour brochure! That area is definitely on my Places To See Before I Die list.

LOL

Yeah in fact MS said something about that at the SG4 convention.....about one day maybe they would step throught the gate and not find themselves in a place that looked like British Columbia.

As for MS doing other things I would (and he said the same) love to see him in something funny like Friends ect

Hopefully, luck will be on his side and he'll be picked up by some progressive thinking casting director.

He'd be great in NYPD Blue as a grumpy detective, or ER ,cast this time as a nurse, or Frasier, cast as an annoying neighbour....oh, I could go on. :p And if the pilot season went well, he might even bag his own series....

Well, the five year pilot that he finished several months ago certainly demonstrated his talents, so his own series should be coming up any time now :D

A pilot? I just heard about two movies...All around town and Children of the Moonson...

Didn't he do a pilot? I don't know, I'm not a huge MS fan, I thought someone said somewhere  that he'd got a pilot. And I commented on how it was good for him that he was getting work so quick.

I'm sorry, I honestly don't know...I just heard about the two movies...I'll let you know if I hear something new...;)
