Happy endings or resolution?

I'm with @Toby Frost; I like a hopeful ending. It doesn't need to be a 'happily ever after', and doesn't need perfect resolution (a well-done open ending can be fantastic), but I like to be left with the feeling that things will be all right, even if at some point down the line.
