So who do you think 'Future Guy' is?

Indeed, i agree.. well, not about the borg thing.. theyve gotta keep it simple (as if they havent gone too complicated already)..

I would love to see it be someone completely unexpected..

Hmm heres a wild guess.. what if its the main Suliban dude himslef?! Hes sending orders back to himself so that he rules the galaxy.. or rather his earlier self does.. who becomes himn.. except he wont become him if he changes the past..

Like a brain-freeze without the ice-cream.. :dead:

Parallel universe theory doesn't work for the effects we've seen, and is useless for changing "your" reality.

The theory goes, that for every event with more than one possible outcome, seperate branches of reality are created that then run in parallel (although spreading out would be a better analogy, as any change tends to lead to others and the realities get further apart).

If you go back in time (or communicate back as future guy does) you create a new branch that diverts off, but your branch doesn't change, so under this theory you have no way of changing "your" reality.

ST paradigm has always been rather inconsistent on which of the several theories of time apply. Mostly they follow the one that involves a single track, but then we get anomolies like the "mirror universe" stories (in TOS, TNG & DS9) that seem to indicate a parallel universe theory instead.

There is a theory of time that would just about cover all this, but if you think this post is long, that theory would take considerably more!
