Hey All,

Gateworld has just told us that SciFi.com has launched their new Stargatye website in anticipation of the new series starting on June 7. It's got nothing there at the moment except this opening pic of the cast including Corin Nemec.

The website is:

So what does everyone think of the new look of the team. Does Jonas look like he fits in? How about those black threads? Is Sam standing just a little too close to Jack? Has Jack gotten taller than Teal'c? Heh, in all seriousness. I think they look alright as a team without Danny.

May I also add that Sam/Amanda's hair looks great this season.

Hey ! is it just me or they got mixed up when they "made" Jack's famous eyebrow scar??? Or is it the picture that's "reversed"??? OR am I hallucinating???

Not the same without Daniel, looks like they've tacked Jona's head on at the side ;) but still, I can't wait to S6 :D

Just got to wait until Autumn

OMG

I hate to admit this, but I actually felt physically sick when I saw that photograph. I suppose it brought it home to me that the programme I love has ended.

Series 6 is really a totally new programme but one that is just another sci-fi programme - like I watched Startrek Enterprise for a while, till they ran out of ideas and the acting was so wooden, and Mutant-X which I likewise watched while it was new and fresh, but got bored with when they failed to flesh out the characters, leaving them as two-dimensional as a cartoon animations.

Now my favourite programme's gone the same way - something to watch when I've nothing better to do, which I usually have. The actual Stargate will probably still be there, and maybe they'll even use it now and again, but the original concept and the team dynamic is dead and gone forever. Sigh. :dead:

Best wishes,
Hatshepsut

i think the picture is reversed, you're right the "scar" is on the left eyebrow. also, jack (and rda, too) wears his warch on his *left* wrist, so it looks to me like the picture has been reversed.

i like sam's hair! it looks great. i'm getting my hair cut just like hers (season four) on saturday, ((and i might even get it highlighted blonde!!))

yeh, they look a great team, and we're going to have to get used to no shanks. my fave character is sam, and i'll still get interest from the show. but i'll sure miss it at the end of the season.

xox.

I am sorry folks, but that is just wrong in soooo many ways.

It actually looks like the new boy is only a cardboard cut-out next to the others

I must admit its looks a tad weird....wheres Danny????
I want Daniel back......;) :dead:

I know I keep saying that it don't matter but looking at that just does bring it home that he won't be in the new season.
Don't get me wrong Im still looking forward to the new season but there will be something missing.....oh and where is General Hammond...he is usually in the group photo's like that!!

:D

new team

Well, it's not too bad. What am I saying, I want MS back!!! WWWWWWHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I'm calm now. That's the first thing I've seen of the new guy. He does look like he doesn't belong there, like they just threw him in last minute.

"Oh yeah, you, stand here, that's good, ok, take the picture"

I do like Amanda's hair, she's looking good. RDA is reversed. They put everyone else behind him too much and in the shadows, and where's Don and Teryl. After all these years they deserve to be there too. Other than that it's ok, hehehhhahahahahahahehehh.

Can't wait to see the rest of the site. SS

Whoa, thank god someone else noticed. I thought I was going crazy. I put the pic as my wallpaper last night and was looking at it going "Hey, wait a minute, that don't look right!"

Is it jsut me or does Jonas look like he's kind of distant to the rest of the group?

Maybe it's for our benefit, as they take more pics he'll eventually get closer and closer to the team. Right now it looks like he's just been dumped to the side.

ya, & just look at all their expressions, they all look SOOOOO happy! I don't like it one bit, though I will give him a chance...still I don't like it!:(

I think that you can easily see that the series has developed since it started.

Hatshepsut, I think you are going too far. Don't judge a book by it's cover. Wait at least until you've seen a few eps of the series, then, if you don't like it, fair enough.

Erm, not judging the book by its cover - hardback?! ;) - but by the words printed on the script within :D And applying common sense to same...

Best wishes,
Hatshepsut

I just mean that you are judging the (next) series by a press photo released. Are you saying you've read the scripts? Even if you've done that, or read spoilers, I don't think you can totally know what the next series will be like, OK, you'll know the plots, but you won't know how the actors are going to do it - one of the most crucial things on TV - until you've actually seen the eps/series. But like I said, if you don't like it after a few eps, fair enough, stop watching.

Actually, I'm judging by hard facts:

Premise 1

The U.S.A.F.'s own code of honour states:

"We will not lie, steal or cheat, nor tolerate among us anyone who does.''

Premise 2

Quinn is a self-confessed thief:

"I brought this Naqadria. Took as much as I could."

This is confirmed by Sam:

"He stole some Naqadria for us."

(Even Joe Mallozzi has admitted that Quinn is a thief.)

Conclusion

Therefore S.G.C., which falls under the jurisdiction of the U.S.A.F., simply would not employ a man with his criminal record. This is unarguable. End of story.

So why is Quinn even in Series Six?

There are better candidates - established characters - available, so why bring in a complete outsider at the tail end of the programme anyway?

Best wishes,
Hatshepsut

hmm I like your point Hatshepsut, I also don't like Quinn....no I'm not a die hard Danny fan...why not bring in Martin Loyd. Don't like him either but he's military from a different planet, knowledgable about the G. (can't rememeber, does Quinn's plannet know about the G?) Of course, he's a diserter, Quinn's a theif, what's the difference...ok I have no point...

I disagree, it's perfectly arguable. You think that Jack with all his covert ops history has always been honest, never stolen, lied or cheated? (Well, for a start, his interrogation in 1969, although that was all in good humour. For Jack and the viewers.) But you get my point?
