I read in an interview a while back that the fans were being asked what they most wanted from stargate next, and apparently a bloopers DVD was suggested and they ((sci-fi channel)) are considerind it!!!!!!!

Anyone heard anything else?

id buy it too!!!!!!! little comments like RDA made in the episode guide book like ""i personally re-did that scene as many times as i could get away with"" referring to THE KISS in window of opportunity. i'd LOVE to see the bloopers for that. and Urgo sounds funny, with Dom DeLuise!!

so.... ppl with power!! go on, put it out, we'll all buy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was listening to one of the DVD commentaries recently and they were talking about bloopers - I think they mentioned trotting them out for Gatecon or perhaps putting them as extra features on the series DVDs - I would stump up for that in a second!
 
they'd do better to put out a blooper tape or DVD -

only having them shown at Gatecon would probably annoy some ppl who can't get there for one reason or another - but putting it out on DVD - more ppl can get it and see it - not to mention, it's more profitable that way too ---

tho, the ppl at MGM have never been particularly interested in profitting from SG-1 - and I have yet to figure out why! There was such potential! toys, dolls or figurines, costumes, you name it - oh well --

let's hope for the bloopers!!
 
I think I heard them saying that there is miles and miles of extra footage from Urgo (which I am sure is hilarious) and I would love to see some of the outtakes from The 100th ep too.

I am not that big on merchandise beyond dvds, but it is very strange that MGM aren't trying to milk it for all they can :rolleyes:
 
DVD's and such

There's a fair amount of stuff coming out in the UK, but not here. I found the same thing with other fandoms, like Babylon-5. I have no idea why companies don't press the US/Canada markets more.

Yes - I don't understand the DVD divide. I have a region 2 player on my laptop (and do intend to return to the UK later this year) so I am lucky enough to have the entire set of stargate DVDs, completed by the region boxset. Amazing that season five is being released in the UK!

Same thing with Buffy and Angel - I have the first three seasons of Buffy and the first two of Angel - I think the North American ones have only got as far as Buffy season one! Very strange!

want bloopers too

Well......I know of at least one other show that had an even worse problem of promoting it and selling merchandise. La Femme Nikita. They have been the best example of the studio ignoring it's fans and not putting out any merchandise for the fans. You think Stargate is bad, at least they do have a store where you can buy some stuff from the show, and they actually put out DVD's. LFN had so little merchandise that it was only sold at the 2nd convention in toronto and they only had t-shirts, sweatshirts, mugs and a few other small stupid things that no one wanted. It mostly sold out before half the people got anything and that was it, it was never sold anywhere else again. Not even from the studio, online or anything. They did however try to do VHS videos of the first season, then for some reason they stopped doing that too. It's like someone didn't want the fans to have anything of the show they loved so much, it was very strange.

Anyway, I would definitely buy a bloopers DVD and do plan on buying all the seasons on DVD as they come out. I will be attending Gatecon again this year and if they play the bloopers there I'll ask if they plan on putting it out on the DVD's. They actually included some of the first Gatecon on one of the DVD's so putting bloopers on shouldn't be a big deal.

Also, if you've joined the fan club you can get a free DVD with the 100th episode, it includes a behind the scenes section and the bit from the first Gatecon convention too. All you pay is like 6 bucks shipping. I got in within a few weeks and it was great. So, join the fan club and they might have other offers like that too. Do I sound like a commercial for them or what??

Anyway, if the studio is listening, put out more stuff, especially behind the scenes kind of stuff and we'll buy it guaranteed!!!!! I'm saving up my money now, you want it, give me something cool to buy and you'll get it.

yeh, bloopers with the 100th ep and some explanation of the in-jokes, perhaps! that'd be good.
i did read an interview aaaaaaages ago with rick, and he said there was a prototype doll, and he said ""it didn't have a big enough packet!"" lol -- don't flatter yurself, rick ;)
i aint seen any dolls, i heard there's a gate and a DHD somewhere tho. i can't even get the cards at the mo! :d
 
free DVD

Tatter- if you join the SG-1 fan club you'll get an offer for a basically free DVD of the 100th episode and it has some behind the scenes stuff, and interviews and stuff from the first con too. You pay shipping which is like 6 bucks and get it in a few weeks, but I think you have to belong to the fan club. So, if you go to the official site there's a link that will take you to the fan club site or the Gatecon site also has a link to join the fan club too I believe. I'ts not that expensive and you get lots of cool stuff. Some great stuff to bring to the con and get autographed actually. At least check it out and see what's new. It did take a long time to get the stuff for the fan club so I'd sign up now if you're gong to the con and want to bring stuff with you. They also have an online newsletter that you can go to for interviews and updates on all kinds of stuff when you join. They're on the second issue. You will get a password when you join to see all the great stuff. I sound like as advertisement dont' I?? Anyway, I would think if anyone's gonna do anything cool it might come through the fan club first. I think you also get discounts on stuff too. So, I joined even though I wasn't gonna cause of money and stuff but now I'm glad I did. Later, SS
