so who's smarter? danny or jonas?

I think they are equally as smart since JOnas has memorized all of Daniel's work.

So far Danny is the smarter. Danny took the time and trouble to learn everything mostly from scratch, while Jonas just memorized it.

But, Jonas is proving to be some kind of superhuman. Remember that scene where he was boxing with Teal'q. He kept getting knocked down, but also kept getting back up. Danny never put on boxing gloves in his life.

YSM - Good point! There is something to be said for learning on your won and doing all of the leg work. And the boxing thing is very true. I hadn't thought of that.

I consider, and I always will consider, Daniel to be the smartest of the two of them. He's a real scholar. Jonas memorizes everything. And the question is 'Does he understand what he's memorizing?'.

Common sense is important. Daniel had it in spades. Not to mention the complimentary spice of compassion.

Well I am not a Daniel lover, but I have to admit that this time, I voted Danny...... Daniel has knowledge, common sense and compassion. A rather lethal combination.

Jonas is just a guy who grins a lot and drinks tea. Eidetic memory doesn't make someone clever, it just means you have perfect recall of something you see or read! It's the understanding of what you see or read that comprises real knowledge.

When I saw this thread I expected a choice between Daniel and Sam. Shows that so far Jonas has not made that much of an impression on me yet, but then I've only seen him in the S6 episodes up through "Frozen."

I agree that the mark of Daniel's intelligence is that he had to learn everything the old fashioned way. Jonas is a "quick study," but a good memory does not always mean a clear understanding of the material.
