jonas isnt smart, in my view. his race are able to "absorb" information much quicker than humans, hence he is able to memorise reports and read really quickly. that also explains his comment in frozen about

and that's ALL he does!
 
Okay... I have a confession.... I voted Daniel even though I have yet to see Jonas in an episode... Shame on me...

I just have a hard time seeing anyone smarter than Daniel, maybe with the exception of Sam...

I mean, he knew 20 something languages when he begun? How many did he know after 5 years around the universe?
 
Gotta be Daniel. He spent half of his life studying the written word, has tons of experience in a number of things (including more experience of the inside of a sarcophagus than most Goa'uld)

Plus the fact he's, you know, way smarter than me.
 
Hmmm --- maybe Jack isn't a dumb as his dialogue makes him appear (feeble attempt at controversy :) )
 
If Jack was any dumber, he'd have his tongue stuck to an iced up lamp post!!

Scary thought -- that the writers are using Jack to stand in for the audience, letting him ask the dumb questions that they think we need to ask in order to follow the plot.

What a relief! All that agreement and tentative controversy was really beginning to scare me. ;)
