6.10: Cure

okay - 2-yr old gone now --

This episode was good - better than most of the others this season. Though, I'm not entirely sure what they are trying to do. Jack and Sam seemed a bit absent in this episode, or maybe I was paying more attention to the story, but it was still good.

I liked that it wasn't the same 'we want stuff so we can be just like you' story, or the 'OMG! Ppl just came through that big metal ring, they must be gods! I hope the other gods won't be angry with us for talking to these gods!' It had an interesting twist that moved the story along and made you 'care' about these ppl - unlike some of the others who did things and they were dying out and tried to 'trick' SG-1 into helping them ("The Other Side" is a good example).

I like the episode a lot, the story about the Tok'ra queen was very interesting. Also enjoy watching Jonas and Teal'c together, this two are becoming a team. I don't know is what unites them is that they're the two outsiders. But I have to admit that they're great together. I agree that it would be interesting to see the Tokr'a queen more time. :(

It apears my thread is gone...or I just accidently posted it in another forum...whatever...anyway, after watching "The Cure", I was looking at the previews, and they led off by calling next week's ep the season finale!!!!!! How is this possible? I thought there were quite a few more to come!

Scifi just ... messed up.

Prometheus is part 1, Unnatural Selection is part 2. You'll have to wait till January 2003 or later for part 2.

So, season six continues.

exactly. what sci-fi mistakenly called a 'season finale' is more accurately the last new episode of the year. and by that i mean, it's going to be january at the earliest before we get the second half of the cliff hanger.

Sorry Spider..your post is in this forum but two of you guys started a thread on the same subject so I merged them together and forgot to post to say what I had done.
Sorry again!

Well, season 1 syndication shoudl start in October or so, so you can enjoy those, or watch new stuff on TV. Try some fanfiction. Stargatefan.com has some excellent fanfiction.

Thanks Penguin for the good advice about how to get through that difficult period. Season 5 should start here (Belgium) in november or something like that, but I already saw it so that will be like not new anymore. But do I care....noooooo!! I'm totally addicted to Stargate!!!:rolly2:

I thought Jonas and T'ealc were great together; finally the stories are finding a place for Jonas and something useful for him to do.

I'm still puzzled though why it was necessary for Egeria AND Kelma AND their host to die. Couldn't Kelma splash around in Egeria's tank while Egeria makes off with the host?
And why should the host die because the symbiote is gone? Sam didn't. Jack didn't. Supposedly the removal of Klorel left Ska'ra alive. Couldn't the host take back Kelma (happily splashing in the tank) after Egeria passes on?

With all these dying Tok'ra the show is beginning to look like the last act of Hamlet :(

Not sure about the Kelma question, but the condition of the host after the exchange would have been a bit rough and Egeria wasn't fit enough to heal her. So simple physical stress may have claimed them.

At the time, I was amused that no one notices Kelma and her host are missing that progress meeting with the leaders.

So, we're back to needing Kelma alive, splashing in the tank for a bit, in order to restore her host.

Did the host get any say-so in this sacrificial swap? Did she know that she was going to die as part of the plan? It doesn't seem to me that this Tok'ra idea was too well planned out since it resulted in three deaths, rather than just Egeria's -- the only one who was truly doomed.

Jack's right -- to the Tok'ra, despite all that talk about co-existing with humans, we are just a nice place to live.

Time for the Tok'ra to let the hosts do the driving for awhile -- at least until they get the hang of this sex thing :D

so you're saying Sam doomeb Daddy by saving him with Selmac? How do we know it's really Jacob all this time & not Selmac playing Jacob?

Well, at least Selmak lets Jacob do a lot of the talking -- or at least I think so.

Never been too clear on this host/symbiote thing. Mostly if it talks all spooky, then its the symbiote. If it sounds like us then its the host.

But then there those times that it sounds like the host, but really isn't. It is the symbiote (usually the bad kind, of course) So how does the symbiote make the host sound like the host but say what the symbiote wants said?

I think this was a great episode one of the best this season.
Great to see the team all together and Teal'c and Jonas together was great...was it just me or was Teal'c smiling a lot in this episode?? ;)

I also thought how the hell did that Tokra queen get into that poor woman

I love this kind of episode that explains thigs a lot more and moves the story along.

I liked Jacks quote I can't remember the first part but it ended with ...without a male friend...or something like that...made me laugh!

A good one all round!

I loved this ep! It was great! Loved Malick's (sp) appearance looking all Frodo-like (thats what i call him) and gorgeous, and a wet-jonas, yum. Of course they werent the only highlights  i was glad it wasnt a run of the mill ep where they find the "perfect" weapon or something but then they discover its not so perfect blah blah. I did kinda guess about the whole Queen Tok'Ra thing (well i figured it had to be something to do with the Tok'Ra and then everything else fell into place when Jonas and Teal'c figured out the inscriptions) but it didnt take anything away from the ep. Overall, i'm very pleased with it :D;):D;):D;)

I was thinking exactly the same things!? Teal'c looked like he had just been laid. Can i say that here?

I concur!

Not much more to add, except that things don't look too good for the Tok'ra after this.
