British Superheroes

The good news is that Billy Whizs is still alive and kicking in the Beano.
 
So far as I can remember, Captain Britain was a British franchise licenced by Marvel. The issues written by Jamie Delano are a nice set of gems with a good human dimension. Capt Britain ended up being re-born in the USA in some daft group thing - After "Excalibur", or something?. No human element, worthless comic.

As for 2000AD - it reached a great maturity between issues 500-700 - but unfortunately, apparently, didn't follow through on a great run.
