What was the last comic book or graphic novel you have picked up?

Mine was the graphic novel, Zero Girl, written and illustrated by Sam Keith.

The last one was Watchmen by Alan Moore - but I want to hold off reading it until I can do so with the chronicles-network book club. :)

The last one I read was Black Orchid by Gaiman.

Only graphic novel I ever read was Ghost In The Shell, which is actually a serial but came in a paper-backed compendium. 2000AD also released all the P J Maybe stories in the one edition as an Extreme, which was pretty awesome.

I just bought my first graphic novel last week. It is called Origin, and it is about the true story of Wolverine. Looks interesting but I haven't read it yet. I am still awaiting the Hedge Knight books to be re published.

I have been window shopping the Black Orchid for some time now. What are your general feelings about it? Is it worth the cover price?

Michael Moorcock's Multiverse. It was dead good. This month, I plan to pick up a graphic novel about HP Lovecraft that has arrived at a local bookstore. Looks like good, clean eldritch fun!

It's more an interesting and beautifully painted short story, than anything else. It's certainly worth reading. But it's not a heavy socio-political construct like Watchmen.

As for worth the price - heh, relatively speaking, most things are much cheaper stateside than here in the UK. :)

It's your call. :)

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (Volume One)...:D What is Volume Two like???

Not really had a great deal of chance to look at what is currently available...

I have just ordered Wolverine vol 1, The Hedge Knight series, Legend (graphic novel) by David Gemmell, and Blade vol 1. Very exciting waiting for Amazon to send me this collection, I was even tempted to have them gift wrapped with a message tag.

Written by: Grant Morrison, Dan Abnett, Chuck Dixon, Andy Lanning, Ron Marz, James Robinson and Mark Schultz... I must be way out of the loop, I only know Grant Morrison!! :(

Damn fine read!!! ;)

I just bought the last copy of The Hedge Knight by George RR Martin, off Amazon. It arrived this morning. I am very pleased. A prequel to A Song of Ice and Fire. Did I say that I was pleased? Now all I need is a copy of the graphic novel version of Legend by David Gemmell, and I can die a happy man.

I can't get a hold of the graphic novel version of Legend, I have been outbid twice and am currently in my third bidding war. I have just won the graphic novel version of Wolf in Shadow by David Gemmell, which is apparently signed by the great man. Well I say won, it is an ebay purchase in actual truth.

Since coming to these forums I have started a graphical novel collection, many of which were recommendations on these pages. In the past month I have bought: Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon vol 1 (which is amazing), Blade of the Immortal: Blood of a Thousand, The Hedge Knight collection, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen vol 1, Origin, Wolverine: The Brotherhood, Slaine: The Horned God, and finally Lone Wolf and Cub vol 1 (which has been the surprise purchase). I plan to purchase the rest of these series and V Vendetta which is highly rated.

I was looking at Lone Wolf and Cub at the book store. Read the first volume, and really liked it. I didn't but it though cause the store didn't have the complete collection, which is quite large.

I just started Jing:King of Bandits and I'm once again hooked on another managa series. The art work is super detailed, there's all kinds of easter eggs in the pictures. Currently on Vol.3 and I don't know when I'll get to Vol. 4 since once again the book store over here is OUT OF STOCK!!! ARRRRRGGGGG

gEEk
