M.S. in 'Battlestar Galactica'?

Leather

That's why I'd *love* to see Michael in 'Farscape'.

Him and John Crichton in black leather...

THUNK! :circle:  :flash: :star:

And what other shows would we like to see Michael Shanks in?

Anybody? :)

If you want more information about the Battlestar Galactica re-imaging being produced by Ron Moore, just look here: http://www.ascifi.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=352

It is not popular with the old Battlestar Galactica fans at all, hence all the petitions (almost as many as there are to bring Daniel back!)

It is possible that the SciFi mention is a fishhook -- something tossed out there by the producers and casting agents to see what sort of heat it generates. So, lets warm it up, friends. I'll send SciFi a note and see what they say.

This could well be true. They seem to think that the audience of old Galactica fans is not enough. They want to re-image it to appeal to a wider and younger audience. With Michael Shanks, or someone similar, onboard in a lead role they would hope to cash in on his fans, but....

This is from a Live Online chat at Yahoo on September 9, 1998.
Question from Tigress35_:
Do you like sci-fi? What is your favorite genre?

Michael Shanks:
I think action adventure is my favorite genre, and I've always been a fan of science fiction beginning at a very young age, with Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, and Space 1999, etc.

So you never know.....

And what other shows would we like to see Michael Shanks in?

I've been trying to picture him as a guest in 'Enterprise' but I just can't picture him as a Vulcan or Andorian.

Not much Klingon potential here either.

Perhaps as a native of Risa ... ;)

Shanks in Shows

Ah, Spooky ... out after dark again, eh? ;)

Let's see ... shows... you mean other than in leather on 'Farscape'? Okay... so I've also got a one track mind...

I'd like to see him do a serious documentary. I love his voice.

I'd be interested to see him in a period costume drama -- perhaps a 19th century Canadian story. Being a history major, I like history films and as I recall Canada actually has some history :D

Yeah I agree..he has got the right kinda voice for that sort of thing!

rumours, rumours and even MORE rumours!

some people were asking me about this as well, but I don't know of any involvment of shanks regarding the battlestar thingy. but I agree, it would be pretty darn kewl! (and if he'd do it, we'd be the last to hear, as usual!) :D

shanks has been sighted at seven auditions that I know of. 1 was for an indie movie, 1 was for a dramatic mini series, 2 were for comedies, 1 was for an adventure kinda thingy, 1 was sci fi. whether he got the jobs or not, and what the movies/series were about, I have no idea. usually all the information I get is "eh doc, the bloke with the eyebrows was here again!", darn it! :D

I also was told about an audition which was - hehehe, no, you'll have to wait for the next issue of pink khaki for that one ;) - this is going to be filed under "gossip & rumours", I'm afraid it's too hilarious to be true.

from what I heard, the next project is/will be this ominous "maggie rose" movie, which was put on ice but not axed (shanks said he'd produce it as well).

ah well, latest when we see a note in the tv guide, we'll know. :)

Thanks for the info .

Please keep up posting the info you get, even the wonderful rumors.

You're better than 'The National Enquirer' ...

... and a lot more accurate. :D

Latest MS sighting...

He was at the San Diego Comic Con Aug 1-4. He was sitting in behind Lexa Doig and Laura Bertram (the Women from Andromeda) during their autograph sessions with fans at the con. He looked cool in his slouchy baseball cap and short-sleeved shirt; lots of biceps showing!!! ;) ;)

::howl!!!!!!!!!!!!!:: :laugh2:

national enquirer, indeed, hehe! specially considered that I only post things I *don't* know! I'm afraid all I have to offer is an "eyebrow sighting" once in a while.

ah, just wait, twenty years from now, when I publish my book "stargate: the untold story", alternative title: "facts and rumours I never posted"!. ;)
