SFX The Event - MS as main guest!

Hey all, i opened up my latest copy of SFX and i found out that Michael Shanks will be the main guest at SFX's 'The Event' in May! Old news for you maybe? Well i didnt know, sooo i was wondering if anybody else was planning on going? Website is here -

Me and Space Monkey are saving up our cash already and we're wanting to go, so we were thinking maybe more of you would be interested in meeting up? Its too early to make plans yet, might as well wait till ppl buy tickets etc, but i was interested in seeing how many would like to actually meet up there? Safety in number plus MS! *swoon*

Its on the 17th and 18th of May. Its £75 for the whole weekend if ur an adult (not sure what age you become an adult from a child in their terms tho) and then party tickets are a little bit extra

I'm about 75% sure that I can be there. I was planning to pop over to Warsaw in May, so it's only a short hop to London!

Its a shame you cant make it Rowan i just heard that David Blaine is supposed to be in town on that same weekend jumping off some bridge or something? So anybody who can only get a one day pass might want to check that out

Well, unless I have a very rich uncle who wants to throw money at me... {hand to ear listening for the sound of coins clinking...}. .. I have a feeling the tickets will sell out pretty fast, if they aren't already.

Just remember to take as many pictures as you can and let us know.

I havent actually bought my ticket yet, my money doesnt come in until December 23rd...

But at this years SFX Event the tickets were still available a couple months before it took place so i'm hoping there will be some left by the time i get my money?

I'm really interested in that. I missed wolf. Its a week before my birthday too so I'm gonna have a chat with hubby about birthday pressies hee hee. I'm only about 40 mins train ride away from docklands too. Anyone got any info on hotels near there? Believe it or not I used to live in the docklands but that was years ago before excel was built, wasnt any hotels back then!

Seems to be 2 hotels near there. The excel itself which is around £175 a room. Or the International which is /£80 for a single or £100 for a twin. Unsure yet whether I can definately go but are there any other girls going who would be interested in sharing the cost of a twin room if I can make it?

Is everyone else booked for the whole weekend and the party? Seems a shame they arent likely to be selling the VIP party tickets after all, I'd have loved that. But the guy I spoke to said they are having problems organising that so they may scrap the idea and basically let everyone into the Vip area, I've joined the mailing list and they will let us know what they decide!

Hey looks like i'm the only other person here with a weekend pass and after party ticket so far! I was looking at hotels the other night, funny you should mention it, there was a hotel for £60 a night, for a single room including brekky which i think is good! Its quite near as well i think, its in the dockland place. If i can find the link again you want me to post it here?

Please post the link Sammy. the only hotels I could find was the Excel itself which would be cool but at £175 a night seems a bit pricy when I'll be spending all my time downstairs! ANd the international which was £80 for a single room. Besides if we are the only 2 that end up going it would be good to be in same hotel, can share cabs back and forth.

Thanx Sammy. Yeah the checkout times are a pain. both the other hotels dont let you check in till 2pm and out by 12. Bit akward carrying luggage all day. One reason the excel would be good, probably could leave luggage somewhere and pick it up later. but that price is too much.

I really hope I can afford to go. I'd be commuting though anyway cos I don't live too far away - about £12 return on train compared to hotel fees. But that would be much more fun. We'll see...

I live close enough to go by train too, but the party is supposed to be on till 2am and trains wont be running then so I'm gonna have to stay. Just annoying paying so much when I'll be in the hotel room for less than 12 hours, lol.
