SFX The Event - MS as main guest!

I'm planning on staying the Friday night, and the Saturday night. I'm coming from Bradford, way up in Yorkshire, so i have no choice. I bought a full weekend pass so i'd want to go to the con on the Sunday too or i would have wasted money if i didnt. But if checkout is at 12 then i might have to stay on the Sunday night too and go home on the Monday.

Wow gonna work out an expensive weekend for ya, should be worth it tho. I'm not too far away so dont need to stay Friday, altho I might not make it for 10am so hope nothing too important is on first.
Cant stay sunday cos my hubby has to work sunday night. SO dunno what I'm gonna do about check out, really dont want to carry a suitcase round with me, and I am not good at travelling light, lol.
Gonna try ringing the hotels and see if they have any kind of left luggage facility.
 
Did you check out that hotel link? I'm not a native Londoner, i dont know much about the place so could you tell me if the hotel is near the con? Have you heard about any other guests that'll be there?

If it doesnt go to www.multimap.com and look for silvertown way in london.
You can see silvertown way which is where that hotel is and the big blue box to the right is excel. Its probably about 20 mins walk (i'm guessing) but there is a DLR station in silvertown way and a station at excel so it would only take a couple of mins on the DLR train. There is actually a holiday inn marked on the map and I think that is the one.
Anyway isnt too far away and the only hotel closer would be the excel itself.
I have absolutely no idea about who else will be there. I just read your link about MS being main guest and decided to go lol. I've never been to any kind of convention before so I have no idea what to expect. Just missed going to wolf and figured this would be the next best thing, lol.

Same here! I'm not a major fan of conventions but maybe just this once...
 
I think this hotel is the cheapest and closest we're gonna find, and it looks quite nice?

I've never been to a con before either, we're all con-virgins :D once i book the hotel, after xmas when i have money, probably after the new year, then i can go book my coach :D wahoo, i have a plan :D

The hotel link i gave you only has expensive rooms left, and i havent booked their yet, so now i'm looking for somewhere else to stay. I found a Travelodge Hotel in E14 (off East India Dock Road) and i need to know is that close to Excel or not? Can i get there by taxi cheaply?! Need to know asap please!

That page tells you about the hotels. It actually says that the travel lodge is closer than the holiday inn. As long as its near a docklands light railway (which it is) then its easy to get around on the docklands. Basically the whole of the isle of dogs is only a couple of miles wide. So getting from one place to another on the DLR wont take long.
Seems like getting a hotel is going to be harder than i thought. I better get looking myself. I didnt think it would be too booked up yet.

Its directly opposite Excel. Its £45 per night for a room and they still have rooms left. I just booked there.
And they have a facility for leaving luggage so you can leave your things there when you arrive and not have to worry about check in time!

My money was taken out over the weekend for the tickets, its taken over two months for them to do it! Not sure why it took so long....*shrugs* :)

Also the actress who plays Hathor will be attending at the London Expo (anyone with a ticket to the SFX con gets in free at the Expo).

yes, I'll be there for SFX. Booked as soon as the tickets came out. I knew they'd get at least 1 guest I wanted to see and they have. Yay for Teryl :)

Am looking forward to Expo too. Have my 'V' dvd all ready to get signed :)
