Whats the Goa'uld pain stick thing called?

Title says it all, really. :p

The pain-stick has been quite a lot, particularly noticeably in late season 4 and early season 5 ("Serpents Venom", "Beast of Burden").

But what is it called, (with sources?)? :cool:
 
I've noticed that no one in the show ever mentions the "pain stick thing" -- something about the psychological reticence that comes with torture, I suppose.
 
are you talking about the weapon that fires? (Teal'c brought his with him when he initially came through the Stargate to Earth with SG-1)

Nah, this is the staff weapon (I even read its true name somewhere, near to the complete zat gun name).

No - not the staff weapon - the torture stick used very in things like Serpents Venom on Teal'c and in Beat of Burden on Unases and Jack/Daniel.
 
I've always wondered this too
Never heard the Goa'uld name for it though
 
I don't think they ever mentioned the name in the series, but in fanfiction it's often referred to as the goa'uld torture stick.

Thats the only name I have even heard it called as well! ;)
 
We could think of a nice Gao'uld word for it, and then shorten it to a 3 letter word :D. Any takers? :p
 
na, pain stick or torture stick are fine...we can all...well most of us...invision what you mean...

Sorry, Texane, not sure if you're making a statement or asking a question ;)

Since I posted the original question, I'd have to check, but it's likely. It seemed to be used a lot in the back end of series 4 and also series 5. Not sure if they were using it as early as mid-s3?
 
in beast of burden the fat guy who stabs our heroes with the GTS calls it something i think i saw this ep on sun but wasnt paying enough attention to catch what he said. something about prefering the *unheard* to the P90. Anyone got that ep on DVD?
 
Could be nicknamed Goat Stick ....

Goa'uld Torture Stick

or even a Goatie :)
 
I seem to remember it being called Firestick. Don't know when or where, and I don't have any reference to back it up, but that's what I remember it being called.
