He was a "bio-mechanical representation" - which could mean robot.

Arc_Angel, you are correct. I meant Lotan.

Well, since he was meant to be 'reintegrated' into the ship's system I took it he wasn't really human.

And when Daniel goes to the ship alone he finds him standing in some kind of energy field and it seemed that Lotan 'renewed' his energy or something. So I came to the conclusion he must've been a robot.
