How many people make their own Stargate related tee shirts to wear at conventions?

I have seen a few, and some are really great.

I especially liked The RDA Fans shirts (well, they were'nt actually T-shirts, I think they were Hockey Shirts).

T-shirts

I'm not good at it, but one fan - 'Chance' by handle - does a lot of it. She also makes a lot of con badges. She's made shirts and badges for me for several conns over the years.

The most unique piece of 'con-ware' I have was a gift from last year: a custom 'badge holder' with my 'names' embroidered on it [black ribbon and yellow gold thread with a clip to hold the badges]. Not only does it keep my badges in one place, but helps me remember my name as the con progresses. ;)

Thanks. I'm thinking about making one. Just don't know what to put on it yet.

Hmm, would it be tacky to have a pic of RCCs head with the title "Hail Rob"?

I've got some. I'm selling them through a commercial site, so I can't do anything that infringes copyright. But I've got a few in jokes...

Teddy bears too...

I'm currently 'renovating', so I'll post the link when that's done.

:) -- Shelby - at a con - almost *nothing* is tacky! :D

Allan - I liked the RDADs shirts too - then again - I'm a sucker for hockey jerseys -- would have more if I had more money - ;)

what is this RDAD shirt, and what does it have to do for hockey jerseys?:rolly2:

The RDADs are a group of lovely ladies who, to put it mildly 'worship the ground that RDA walks on'. They are really big fans of his. I believe they made themselves team hockey jearseys that they wore to the con. It's just so they can be identifies by their common interest. They have a great website. I think it's

ah, ok, well i cant say i am happy about hockey jerseys being used in such a way:(, but oh well:p:rolly2:

hehe, bit of a hockey fan eh?

I wanted to catch a Canuks game while I was in Vancouver but apparently the season will not have started yet. :(

i played travel hockey from when i was 8-18, so u could say im kinda a fan;):rolly2:

I couldn't find any pics of the RDADS Hockey Jerseys on their web site, so when I get a chance I will do some screen captures from the Gatecon footage and post them

Okay, I got another question...

Will Vancouver be on daylight saving time when the convention is on? About what time does it start to get dark?

Lighting

Both the US and Canada will still be on daylight savings time. Sunset is around 7PM and it starts to get dark around 8-ish in Sept.

and Shelbs, take some summer clothing, particularly if you're going to do a bit of walking. When I was there in September 2000 [although not at the con :( ] it was still really warm - in the mid 20's at a time when it should have been 18 or lower. Remember they're just coming out of summer. Even at the top of Grouse Mountain, we were running around in T-shirts.

Much better than a Canberra winter :rolly2:

PS we'll be down your way again in July ..... ski, ski, ski :D

Yeah, I was looking at the temperatures for the area the other day and they said 16-18C. I reckon I'll pack mostly summer stuff, maybe a jumper or two for Grouse.

So you're coming back down to Canberra in July? Fantastic. Can't wait to see the kids again. :D

Weather

Please remember this: Vancouver is pretty much at sea level. Some of the basic hikes on Grouse [at the top of the sky ride] start at 1,100 meters [3,700 ft] and go up from there. In September you could be running into a bit of snow or freezing rain when it's bright sun in Vancouver. Make sure you have cold weather and rain gear, even if it's only a thick sweater and a rain-proof windbreaker. Also... in September, it gets dark fast. Please allow for it. Remember you're at a higher latitude [49N] than some of you might be used to.

When you head into the mountains in this area [the Cascade Mountains] always be prepaired for bad weather. It can change in 30 minutes from sunny to a full rain.

I'm not trying to worry anyone, I just want you to be prepaired and enjoy our nice, *Green* country.

Rowan < your local native on the US side of the Cascades;)
