For Jonas likers ONLY

Gasp! That's all I can do! When did our Stargate corner of the web become a bitter & flaming place? I had no idea 'til it showed up in my thread about whether to have a 5 person team when Danny comes back. I guess I've been so busy I just got routed into a bunch of threads & stayed there. All those ones are freindly as heck. Once in I while when I get a minute spare (not too often) I venture out to check if there's any new interesting threads...I guess I'm lingered too long in some well esstablished ones.

Always love your soup box Anni, the reason I usually come out of my niche looking for interesting & inteligent discussion, you should post more often:rolleyes:

I dislike the idea of Jonus back in the day of Danny leaving, but I found myself tolerating & then even likeing him, I'm sure much due to Corin's patience & effort into the character. I also found many other well established fans in our forum feeling the same way. So is this bashing side that was totally unknown to me coming from newbies? or people who have been thrown out of other forums?

 I'm glad you've started this thread, but shouldn't our whole forum be back to people being respectful of other peoples opinions? I'll crawl back to my safe threads now...everyones so cheery & chipper in the defaced images thread. We praise everyone & make each other feel happy & welcome...:D

It seems our love for "debate" over SG is never ending. Note the same flames when Daniel was leaving: those who would remain fans (s6ers) versus those who chose to boycott (s5's).

I think the arguments over Daniel's (alleged) demise and Sam's hair wore me out. :(

There is nothing new under the sun Texane. The same old arguments and flame do the rounds periodically no matter what. I think the recent debacle over Corin being cancelled from Wolf SG6 may have caused some alarm and despondency also. I am really glad that I am not attending any of the cons, although I will probably visit on the Gatecon one to try and meet some of the folk I have known for so long over the lists and boards, but I won't be an actually attendee. Can't get the time of work for it.

It does seem to me though, that in every single thing I have read about Season 7, they have well and truly peripheralised the character of Jonas, which I find very sad. I had hoped against hope that it wouldn't be an attitude of 'business as usual with Dr Jackson slipping back into his previous role' from TPTB, but I think that might be an optimistic idea.

The show jumped the shark for me ages ago anyway, way back in Season 5, so I only watch it with sporadic interest and the only thing which really keeps my attention is my ever growing Stargate novel!

Yeah. Season 7 does really look like it's 'so long sucker' for Jonas and, at least from the spoilers i've read thus far, perilously close to Stargate: Daniel Jackson.

whatever.

It'll work or it'll suck....i'll watch or i'll turn off the tv.

It was nice to read that we have at least 3 jonas appearances to count on with maybe one of them actually focussing on him and not having him buried under all the fuss of Daniel returning. (sounds like a replay of meridian huh? only in reverse)

I'm really going to miss Jonas. Maybe it's coincidence, maybe not, but I love the lighter feeling and more fun atmosphere of season 6 as opposed to the barren wasteland of season 5. (just my opinion, but more than once the characters seemed to just be marking time and really didn't give a dang about each other)

It'll be great if they keep the good attitude

Agreed. :dead:

I will try to bear with patience whatever they concoct, but I already feel the strain of trying to accept a reduced or removed role of Jonas -- whom I have really come to like in the last eps of S6.

:(

here's a little good news - joe mallozzi recently said that in addition to the 2 part season opener, jonas will also be featured in another ep called "fall out" which is being written by corin nemec.

thanks peeps

and it appears I need to go back to school as I can only count up to 6

Hey evry1, i dunno about anyone else but alot of the people i know have gone off Corin Nemec slighty because of what he did about SG6.

Corin had signed a contract with wolf events saying that he couldnt appear in another convention in the uk untill wolf sg6 had ended. Corin then got asked to do a comic convention with all the scifi shows like star trek, star wars etc.. (it wasnt even a stargate convention) wolf events told him what would happen if he did go, but the other convention was offering a load more cash than wolf events were prepared to and guess what...

Corin chose the CASH over all us FANS.

dont get me wrong im a big Jonas fans and i no alot of people who r also but comeon, that was just out of order. and as much as ill miss corin/jonas... Michael/Danny will more than fill his boots.

Sorry if ya dont agree with me but thats just mho.

It's disappointing yes, but sometimes for whatever reason you have to go where the money is. Bills to pay, family to take care, and yes trinkets and such to buy. Not all actors are very well payed. :erm:

That's very true, especially since he's not going to be paid for a full season's Stargate work with the return of MS, just three episodes' worth. Who knows? Before the much vaunted return of the prodigal son, he may have planned his life around being there for the whole of Season Seven.

We'll never know. Personally I think that Wolf should have perhaps not gone on about the 'First UK appearance' aspect so much.

I'm sure there's a ton of stuff behind the scenes that we'll never know. And having never been to a wolf con, i have no idea how accurate the rumors are that i've heard.

I do personally feel the whole situation was handled very poorly and unprofessionally on wolf's behalf, but that's just my opinion. I'm not a fan of dirty laundry being aired in public

it had to be very frustrating for the fans that were looking forward to seeing corin
