The Animatrix Reveals . . . . .

I remember the comics and short stories that were posted on www.whatisthematrix.com way back in 99 - some of them were really very good, and there was one in particular that I think might have been a partial inspiration for 'Detective Story'. I had a look for these online stories recently and couldn't find them, so if anyone knows where they disappeared to, please let me know.

And surely there must still be oceans? I think if the oceans had somehow disappeared there would be pretty catastrophic consequences for the air - even beyond the potential lack of oxygen.

Actually I just had a thought, remember the first time we see the scorched sky? There were dark clouds there - I guess they could have been simply soot/smoke and the effect of whatever darkening agent the humans used, but it looked quite like heavy storly rain clouds to me.

Good question. I'd have to guess "yes" only because the Earth's surface is roughly 3/4 water and most of that is oceans. I'd think that "scorching" the sky would have caused a kind of nuclear winter and I doubt that the oceans would have been completely depleated or covered. Who knows how industrious those machines are, though? :alienooh:
